"What do you want." The boy was surprised at how bitter she sounded. If the girl was being honest, she was a little surprised too.
The boy dug the heel of his sneaker into the ground.

"Can we talk?" His voice was rough, and he thought that something flashed over her face for a second when he spoke - but it was gone as quickly as it had come.
She folded her arms.

"There's really nothing to talk about." She said, biting her lip and avoiding his eyes like usual.
He reached out to touch her arm and she flinched away from him, her face twisting into something that looked like a mix of longing and regret.

He sighed. "What can I do to make you forgive me?"

Finally the girl met his eyes. She was chewing her lip again. "
There's nothing."
