She didn't really know why she was there. Someone had invited her? She couldn't quite remember. All she knew was that there was a perfectly nice looking dark corner across the room where she could hide from everyone. Better yet, she saw the entrance to the kitchen - the kitchen far, far away from the noisy talk of her "friends."
She tried not to draw attention to herself as she crossed the floor but she could sense someone's eyes on her while she was walking. For once, she didn't want to wonder who it was.
Once she reached the kitchen she immediately felt better; it was amazing how much difference a thin wall could make for her headache-in-process. She let herself breathe for what seemed like the first time in days. Everything had just been so stressful, and this party certainly wasn't helping in the slightest.
