She was frustrated. People had never come easy to her, but this time she knew it wasn't even her fault. He had said something stupid, and she wasn't sure if she wanted to be around someone so judge mental. But she also knew he was broken and going through something horrible. And the worst thing is that she couldn't bring herself to tell anybody about her problems anymore. She didn't remember how to reach out without completely crumbling, like she always did.
It was difficult for a while, but she eventually remembered that her emotions also mattered. She had known too many people who had turned out only to be pretending to be kind, and it had messed with her brain. Part of her thought that she deserved this - that for some reason the constant discourse in her life was God's punishment for past sins.
But the worst thing was, she had been happy before all that had happened. Someone who could turn her mood with the snap of his fingers and the flick of his tongue shouldn't be there. Yet he still was. Why was he still there?
