Things were more confusing than ever with Rose and Spencer.
She couldn't look at him without smiling. Rose's smile wasn't just a normal, run of the mill smile, it was one of those smiles that just brightened your day within seconds. Yeah, one of those.
He couldn't make eye contact with her without having flashbacks of everything that he had done wrong with her. Like kicking her when she was down, and not even realizing it. Like ignoring her for weeks when they were mad at each other. Those things.
When they were in a room together it was like walking and talking through a haze. Neither of them were totally there... it was like they were in their own worlds, and they wouldn't let each other in no matter what. Rose didn't want Spencer in her world because he had never apologized for everything that he had said - and hadn't said - to her, and Spencer didn't want Rose in his world because of his guilt.
She was too much for him right now. He couldn't handle her being around and constantly being reminded of their week together where he had pretty much said everything wrong that he could have said wrong. He wasn't ready for that. Not even close.
