The morning started with Nikki unceremoniously bursting into the tent, bashing two frying pans together and chanting, "WAKE UP NEIL! GET YOUR MEAL! YOU'RE STILL IN BED! WHAT'S THE DEAL!"

Max took a long sip of his black coffee and stared at his friend who was still sleeping. Neil's face was extremely pale and sweaty, more than usual. He was curled up in his covers, shivering. Neil moaned in response to the loud noise as his eyebrows furrowed in what Max could only assume was pain.

"Neil's sick," said Max, trying to seem like he didn't care. "David's checked up on him and he's getting medicine."

"Awwwww! Why does being sick have to ruin everyone's fun!"

Nikki bounded towards Neil's bed, dropping her frying pans in the process. Max didn't flinch when one landed on the cast on his foot.

"Neil get up!" Nikki shouted.

Neil groaned at her. "Go 'way."

His eyes then went to the foot of Max's bed where the boy was sipping his black coffee.

"It's bad 'nough we share a tent but you're eating food 'round me," Neil slurred.

"It's fine," said Max. "I don't get sick anyway."

"I want you to remember saying that when you and Neil are sweaty potato twins," said Nikki.

The three were interrupted by the happy footsteps heading towards their tent. A moment later, an annoying loser with red hair popped in with a glass of water and some pills.

"Here you go Neil," he said softly.

With some help from David, Neil took the pills then laid back down. Max couldn't help but feel a little jealous when his camp counsellor was asking his tent-mate if he was alright.

"Let's head out for activities you two," he said once he was done checking up on Neil.

Nikki and Max reluctantly followed the man out of the tent. Max had procrastinated leaving the tent all morning, somehow wanting to be around his friend. He knew it was pointless, especially since Neil was such a bummer when he was sick and he knew no one would really do that for him.

Before going outside, Max left, "Don't die fucker," as his parting words.

A part of him couldn't help but feel guilty once they met some of the other campers on the activities field and Neil was still in his tent. There were a few campers who didn't come out, just like Neil. Nurf, Harrison, Ered and Preston were nowhere to be seen.

While Max and Nikki were working on a Rube Goldberg machine that would throw mud at David or Gwen when they wanted to go on or out of their cabin, they saw the sick campers being moved to the Mess Hall as well as some supplies.

Gwen didn't come to the activities field either which left Max with an empty feeling in his stomach. David later explained that she was looking after the sick campers, to Max's relief.

Activities went on as usual for that day but they didn't require as much energy. Most of them were sitting down activities, which was great for everyone since they all seemed a bit out of it.

Max didn't take much pleasure in the camp dropping like flies. He felt extremely uncomfortable when it was the middle of the day and half of the campers were sick. It was only fair that he suffer with them but he wasn't really. Nerris was just on her way to the Mess Hall because she was vomiting during the activity. This left Max with Spacekid, Nikki and Dolph, who seemed to be doing fine. Actually, Dolph looked pretty pale and was close enough to Spacekid for a sense of foreboding to hang over Max for Spacekid.
