The scent of salt and water bounced off Dan's eyelashes not allowing for the sand to leap into his eyes.

In his heart, he crossed his fingers hoping that Fredrick was lying and would come after him soon.

Their dispute about the divorce happened that morning but as the sun was setting in the horizon, Dan still sat under the umbrella facing the beach.

"He's such an idiot," his words heaved like the ocean before him. "I can't even get mad at him. Damn. Why do I always have to be the matured one?"

In his irritation, he got up and took in a deep breath to clear his mind. He decided that there was no point in being mad and getting to the point of Fredrick's words would be most sufficient.

When Dan got inside their summer villa, there was another man sitting beside Fredrick and cracking all kind of jokes which the stern Fredrick laughed to.

Dan didn't know how to approach this situation because he had never planned for Fredrick to be gay with anyone other than himself.

"Fredrick?" The faithful man called out to his husband.

"Dan?" Fredrick turned around with excitement as his husband finally returned, "Where have you been?"

"Down by the beach," Dan's face showed all sort of emotions ranging from confusion to disappointment. "Who's this?"

The other man turned around as well, "Oh, me? I'm Jonathan and Fred's little brother."

"Brother?" Dan repeated the word in his head over and over again.

Dan thought to himself that their postures didn't look like how a brother interacts with his brother. Then he was reminded of his two boys who adored one another.

"Mom didn't say anything about having two sons," Dan tried not to pout.

"Oh, he's my half brother," Fredrick smiled as he combed his brother's hair. One of Dan's eye flinched a little.

Dan went and took Fredrick's hand, "I need to talk with you about this...and earlier-basically a few things."

"Then just do it here," in which Jonathan nodded along like a pest.

With Dan's sudden heavy breathe intake, Fredrick knew it was serious and threw away what he said and followed Dan to another room.

"So what did you want to talk about?"

"The divorce," Dan tilted his head a little to show his seriousness.

Fredrick was indifferent and then a smile drew on his face, "I'm happy that you got mad."

The organic balls in Dan's eye sockets rolled about, "My anger give you pleasure? What kind of sick joke is this, Fredrick?"

The happy husband opened his arms for the annoyed one to fall into, "Hm?"

Dan went to sit on a sofa, "Don't be so happy just yet. We still have other problems so sit down."

"Anything for you, babe," Fredrick wasn't bothered by the Dan's dissatisfaction and sat right next to him with no room for arms between them.

"Don't take brotherly lessons from the kids," Dan allowed for Fredrick to put Fredrick's arms around him, "You and Jonathan are grown men."

"What are you talking about?" Fredrick placed his head on Dan's shoulder staring at Dan with lust.

"They way you act around your brother, ugh," Dan shivers a little and offended Fredrick.

"What? I just learned that he's my brother and this is how you treat my feelings?"
