I don't even know why all three of them: Freddie, Ralph, and Jelly are here. It's probably just my imagination.

In a few minutes I hear the police and ambulance in the front yard. They says, "Where's the boy who got shot in the knee?"

"He's here officers," Jelly directs them to me and Freddie.

With one look at me, the energy and light in their eyes vanish like I am a hopeless case.

I have become so weak, I rest my head on Freddie's shoulder, "Aren't they going to help me?"

"What are you waiting for?! Take Gabe to the hospital! He need urgent attention!" Freddie shouts and then they quickly begin to do their jobs-although in disarray.

I see Freddie telling Jelly and Ralph to stay while he rides in the ambulance with me.

Freddie locks his hand with mine and I feel safe. And all I could think about is taking advantage of this situation and pretend that I'm his boyfriend.

I don't deserve Freddie, not even as his best friend or normal classmate.

They rush me to the operation room. I think I lay there for about 5-6 hours.

Once they put me in a room I feel a spur of energy so refreshing I escape from the bed.

The cleanliness has this very distinctive smell that can pierce through the built up mucus in one's nose and throat.

"Sir, you can't go in there!" A man pleads.

"But I'm his godparent," it is Dan.

Freddie opens the door and Dan rushes inside along with the man-a nurse.

As if they could see my astral form, Dan and Freddie begin to cry. I turn to see that my my heart is jumping between 15% and zero.

"What's going on?" Dan turns to the nurse.

"I-I don't know. I'll call the doctors." The nurse leave.

Dan slaps his forehead and then pinched his nose bridge, "So how did this happen again?"

"His brothers said that they were just playing around and the rifle accidentally went off. Gabe pushed Jen aside and took the bullet," Freddie pulls a seat beside me and holds my lifeless hand.

Dan's eyes widens but he comments nothing.

I reach my astral hand out to Freddie's shoulder telling him to stop showing me such affection. I have already decided that I don't deserve him.

The doctor and nurses rush in and I follow Dan and Freddie out.

"Freddie," Dan puts his hand on his son's shoulder, "You need to stop doing that. You're hurting Gabe unnecessarily."

"What? I don't think I am though," Freddie makes a confused look, "How am I hurting Gabe, mom?"

Dan sighs and slams his back onto the wall, "You're so oblivious. You were always so smart about these things when you were younger.

I'm sure Gabriel likes you more than a best friend. So unless you like him back, I suggest you stop giving him mix signals."

Freddie stands still like he have never put things into that perspective, "Oh my god. You're right mom. What have I done?"

"It's fine. Just be more aware of your actions," then he pauses, "But don't suddenly change your behavior. He'll be even more hurt otherwise."

Freddie goes to his mother's side and leans against him. He hugs Dan by the waist and says, "Can we have Gabe live with us? You're his godparent aren't you mom?"

"I would love to but," Dan gently runs his fingers through Freddie's slightly curly and light brown hair. "That's not how the world works. We need his dad's permission first and I have been trying for as long as I have learned of what's going inside their house."

"But, mom, Gabe needs to get out of that house. He really needs to," salty water forms out of Freddie's light brown eyes.

It makes me sad to see Freddie crying for me. I stop telling him what's going on long ago but he kind of always knew my circumstances.

"Fred! Mom!" It's Glenn with his two sisters, Ellie and Carly, and Gray.

Freddie hides in Dan's arms and wipes his tears away. He have always hate showing his brother his tears, either joy or sadness, and the story as to why I do not know.

"How's Gabe?" Gray asks Dan. They walks away to talk about me.

"So how's Gabe?" Ellie asks Freddie.

"The operation went well but Gabe's heart beat is..."

"Don't ask him that. Tell him about our new sibling," Glenn offers. I didn't say this before but Glenn and Freddie looks like twins. I could tell them apart by their attitudes.

"New sibling?" Freddie stares at Glenn with an unbelievable look, "Are you serious?"

Glenn stays silent. He usually doesn't like talking to emotionally unstable people. Carly answers instead, "Yup. Daddy took Ellie and I to see the baby together."

Freddie's eyebrows nit together with a frown to shape the overall unsatisfied look. He then pulls his brother by the arm, "Let me talk with you in private."

So they went. Gray and Dan return.

"Where are they going?" Dan asks his girls.

"Freddie said they needed to talk," Carly answers, "privately that is."

She giggles a little.

"The new baby?"

"Yup," Carly nods her head while Ellie holds on to Dan's hand as soon as he got back.

"I think I'll be taking Gabriel to live with me then since Antonio haven't return yet," Gray nods to himself.

I suddenly feel as if something is pulling me back to my body-but I don't want to return. I don't want to worry anyone anymore.

Omg this chapter took me forever 😑 but I sure am glad I ended it at a pretty interesting phase.
