"Where's Glenn going?" Freddie asks his sad parents.

"He's so much like your mother...running away from the father of the baby," Fredrick sounds a little sad.

"You didn't answer me," Freddie gets up and walks to face the patriarch, "Where and why is Glenn going? It's Christmas Eve."

"We don't know either," Dan hugs his son.

"Then why did you let him leave?" Freddie pushes his mother away and begins to run after his brother to only be stop by his father.

"Let go! I'm not going to be like you to mom! My brother needs me," Freddie glares right at his father's eyes without any restraints.

"I'll let this one go," Fredrick's voice is heavy and cold. "Go with your Grandma to pick up your sister at your uncle's place. I'm going to have some peaceful talk with our mad scientist friend."

"Come on, let's do as you dad said," Vera pulls her grandson from her son's iron grip. Soon, they too are gone.

"You two stay here, I still want to talk with the both of you," Fredrick is frustrated so Dan slips his hand to grabs Fredrick's.

After saying so, Fredrick goes up to Dr Vang and claims, "This time you tell me the real reason why you started SSRP."

Dr Vang's face becomes dead like the winter's early nights. She bites her lips and her face is no longer the condescending and indifferent face.

While sitting there silently for a long period of time, I grab the rough yet very warm hand of Ralph.

I don't know if I should tell him of my conclusion.

Ralph notices my uneasiness and asks, "Is the shadow man around here?"

My eyes flinch upward in awe because I didn't know that he knows about the shadow man.

"No. He's not here," I murmur in a frighten voice. I eyeball around to see if the shadow man is here because he was mention.

"Then why are you so anxious?" Ralph puts his arms around me and rubs my side as comfort.

I stay quite and contemplate whether my conclusion is ever true altogether. If so, Dan definitely needs to know about it.

Across from me the shadow man begins to form making me jump.

"What's wrong?"

The shadow man disappears so I say, "It's nothing. I have to tell Dr Ferns something. I'll be right back."

"Okay?" Ralph sounds like he doesn't trust my state of mind.

I walk to a room I think they walked into while covering my ears. The door is closed so I knock using my elbow.

Dan answers the door and I read his lips, "What is it Gabriel?"

"May I talk to you about something?" I don't know my volume.

"Must it be right now?" I nod and he closes the door behind him.

He pulls my hands form my ears, "That room is sound proof."

Dan takes me to another room which he states is also sound proof. He sits me across from him, "What's so urgent?"

"Freddie is the father of Glenn's baby," I speak so fast I don't even think I comprehend my own words.

Dan bites his bottom lips while pinching the bridge of his nose, "You know so too, huh? Why did I deny this earlier."

"You knew?" I ask.

He nods and with a choking voice he says, "I didn't want to believe it. I knew this long ago. I chose to ignore it because I told myself it's brotherly skinship.

I asked Freddie what he does with his money like you suggested, and he continues to tell me he spends it on you," Dan wipes his now just forming tears.

We stare at one another and I ask him, "Which are you not okay with? Them not telling you? Or that it's incest?"

"Them not telling me," Dan laughs to ease his pain. I feel so much more at peace to know that Dan is at least less angry about it being incest.

"But I do understand Glenn's feelings. I too ran away from Fredrick when I learned that I had his child."

"Are you going to let him run away too?" Dan's tears stop like he is beginning to realize something.

"But he knows of what happened to his father and I, he's a smart kid. I should let him choose, right?" He asks me in all seriousness.

"Not when he's as mentally unstable as right now," I shake my head feeling my heart is finally calming now.

"You're right. He needs me the most right now and I let him do something so dangerous as being on his own," Dan stands up with a resolve. "Tell Fredrick that I'm going to the airport to get Glenn."

"I will," I nod my head and wave my hand, "Bring him home."

Dan smiles at me as he walks out the sound proof room and sprint down the halls and to the living room.

All of sudden I feel the need to be there as well. I rush to the living room where Dan stands in front of a kneeling Freddie.

Vera stands behind Freddie and says, "Do you want me to kneel too before you allow them to love each other?"

"I approve. I approve. We need to hurry to the airport before Glenn leaves for Nepal," he pulls his son by the arms to get him up.

Freddie is crying with joy, "Thank you mom. Thank you."

"I understand my precious angel. I will always love you and will prove it everyday," Dan wipes the tears on Freddie's cheeks and kisses his temples. "Now let us go catch Glenn."

Now that things are like this, I don't mind not going. So as they leave, I give Freddie a hug and wish him luck.

Ralph pulls me to his laps and comments, "I just want to go home already."

😂😂 I hope that Fredrick have becomes better in your eyes because he kind of did in my eyes.

I'm sorry if you're turn off by incest especially when two of the most beloved characters in the series are practicing it.

However, incest is real and we should talk about it more. Is it morally wrong to love a family member like a lover? Is it genetically wrong? Nuclear versus extended family?

I think about it in an anthropological and psychological perspectives using the theories of roles and alliances (They don't feel the need to look for a partner outside of their family since they have quite the resources and a small family.) and the face-merging experiments (They look more or less the same and carry a lot of their parents' traits.) as bases. My conclusion is similar to Gabe and Dan.
