Danganronpa (YES I JUMPED ON THE BANDWAGON)

Start from the beginning

Let's get one thing out of the way: Sayaka was desperate. She gets a lot of hate for trying to frame Makoto for murder and while I was just as pissed off as the rest of you, taking a step back kind of made me realize that she would have not tried to frame Makoto if she was sane. You could argue that everyone else kept their heads, especially after the video that was their motive, but it was made kind of clear from the start that she would do anything for her band. And plus, considering the rules of the class trials and the Killing Game, would she've really written Leon's name on the wall with what strength she had left if she didn't care about Makoto?

Say what you want, but I agree with Kirigiri. Sayaka did that to save Makoto from suspicion because despite planning this entire bloody scenario, deep down she did feel guilty about it. And in addition to that, Kirigiri also pointed out that her hesitancy to act was what got her killed. So yeah, I'm firmly believing the fact that she actually did give a fuck about Makoto and that she wasn't just some psychopathic two faced bitch. (I mean that award would probably go to Celeste but I don't see anyone else hating her. And put your pitchforks away, I like Celeste. I'm just stating the facts of what she did vs what Sayaka did. I mean, Celeste did backstab Hifumi and I see absolutely no one talking about that.)

A N Y W A Y

Now we got that out of the way, my favorite characters are Aoi Asahina, Kyoko Kirigiri, Makoto Naegi, Hajime Hinata, Sonia Nevermind, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu, Peko Pekoyama and Nagito Komeda. (In that order. ahahahahah)

Yeahhhhh by the time I watched the OVA about Nagito, I realized that I was pretty much trash for Makoto. TBH, he's actually kind of hot and no, that's not the only reason why he's one of my favorite characters. I just really like the way he's developed throughout the series. I mean, no matter the situation, he always manages to find the silver lining in the situation and I find that incredibly admirable. My respect grew for him when he comforted his sister Komaru about their parents being missing. You can clearly see why she was captured, Makoto cared for her deeply. Speaking of which, his conversations with Komaru are comedy gold as well as endearing.

And on that note, I fucking screamed when Makoto and Kyoko became canon.

Secondary favorites are Chihiro Fujisaki, Kazuichi Soda, Ibuki Mioda, Celestia Ludenberg, Kiyotaka Ishimaru, Toko Fukawa, Komaru Naegi, Nagisa Shingetsu, Byakyua Togami, Gundham Tanaka, Sakura Oogami, Chisa Yukizome and Kyosuke Munataka.

The only character I really hate is Junko Enoshima and honestly, while she's a character I'd love to hate, she's also the only one I truly despise (and I just sounded like Komeda, didn't I? Fuck.) She's incredibly manipulative and has absolutely no regards for the consequences of her actions. She treats her older twin sister Mukuro like absolute shit like oh my god, like I know you're treating her that way because you want to feel the despair of losing your sister but JFC YOU BETRAYED SOMEONE WHO WAS WILLING TO HELP YOU. On that note, I'm glad you died, motherfucker. :)

Another character I hate is Monaca Towa. LIKE JFC, its the exact same story. She tricked her best friends, tried to kill them off, tried to make Komaru the successor to Junko by showing her the 'dead' bodies of her parents, broke Nagisa mentally and used his affections to her advantages, lied about her fucking disability, and was ready to kill the Monokuma kids with absolutely no remorse. At least the other members of the Warriors of Hope had reasons about killing massive amounts of people, (even if they aren't justified) but her.....just no. (Also fun fact, she's voiced by Aya Hirano, who's the exact same VA for Lucy Heartfilia.)

One character from the anime I hate is Ruruka Ando. Sorry, even the creators thought that it was going to be cliched for her to have a redemption arc. Like....I just don't get this chick. She continuously manipulated Seiko, her best friend, into doing stuff for her just out of fucking spite. HI HELLO WHAT PART OF "IF I EAT SWEETS I'LL DIE" DO YOU NOT FUCKING UNDERSTAND?! Honestly I'm kind of glad Nagito was partly the reason why they fell apart. While the friendship may have been genuine at first, their relationship became considerably more toxic as they grew up and that was not okay.
