Chapter 45: Dual Despair

(Jiro's POV) 

The loud explosion caught my attention while I was going home. I decided to turn and look at out of curiosity of mine. But I didn't expect that my world will be drain to nothingness. The hotel where Alexis stay was on fire because of the explosion a while ago. But the most despairing part was the explosion occur in Alexis' room itself. Without wasting time, I rush toward the burning establishment. The loud screaming was change to loud booming of my heart. I can't stop, as if the way has turn longer than it was before. My breathing is much heavier than normal. And my thoughts was blur than a peaceful mind. Blood came rushing towards my head as palpitate of my heart become painful as time goes by. I don't know what I'm thinking right now, but the image of Alexis' smiling was slowly drifting away from my grasp. Don't, don't go, I wish you were safe Alexis, please. I pleaded hard as I could, and ran faster than I could just to get there without any more delays. I didn't entertain those people I bump along the way, all I want is to see Alexis fine without scratch, that's all I want for now. I thought it will take a lifetime to get in the vicinity of the hotel, but when I get there, they're firefighters and ambulances surrounding the hotel. Even the employees and guests were evacuated at the safe area. I turn to see the fire was beginning to grow faster because of the wind blowing at the top. I tried to go inside but the police officers prevent me.

"I'm sorry sir, you can't go inside!"

"But I have to find Alexis, where is she!?"

"Just ask the hotel's employees sir, but we evacuated all the people in the hotel, so she must be safe then." After then, he let go of me and try to prevent other people especially the media lurking around getting a fresh scoop. 

I didn't waste time and look for the hotel employees who would know where Alexis' whereabouts.

"Hey, excuse me, Miss!" I called one of the employees.

"Is Alexis safe?" She raises an eyebrow to me.

"Pardon Sir?"

"Alexis, she's one of your clients in the hotel."

"Oh, ok, let me check the guest list for a moment sir." She grabs her guest lists and scans it for a while.

"I'm sorry sir, but there is no name of Alexis Hirasawa in our lists."

"What!? Are you kidding? She was staying at the room, which is on fire! Please scan it again, please." She gave me a worried look.

"I'm sorry sir, but we didn't have a guest with the name of Alexis Hirasawa, I'm sorry." What the hell is happening here? I think this is the hotel she was staying in and the room she was staying was the one exploded awhile ago. We were at the same room last night, how could it be that there was no Alexis in the guest lists? This is so absurd. What are they hiding from? I was so confused right now, but I have to find Alexis.

"Then, who is the one that occupying the room, Miss?"

"Oh, the room which on fire? The name registered to our list is Ken Toujou, but last night, he checked out from our hotel. Thank goodness that he was not around.

"What? That guy who is with Alexis? What the hell is wrong with here!? Where are you Alexis? Where are you?

(Meter's POV) 

Today was so exhausted and full of problem. Yesterday, Jiro was nowhere to be found, but thank goodness Alexis took care of him and I attend to many meetings regarding the school problems. There is no end to this. I slump at the nearest couch in my room, then suddenly my phone rung echoing inside the room. I never look at the caller and press the answer button.
