Intertwine (Strings of Fate) Chap.8

Chapter 8: Iris

(Alexis' POV)

Damn it! He was already at the school grounds. Moreover, the sight of the fierce horse frightened some students. Some of them were startled and started to run away from the scene.

"Move out! Stay away!" I shouted to them, in order to alert them to run away before they get hurt. With so much panic the students run in every direction, some got bump to each other. One of the students near the horse suddenly kneeled down, trembling because of fear, while the horse is making havoc in the school grounds. Because of its rudeness and out of control the horse suddenly runs towards to the girl. To my light-speed legs, I run towards infront of the girl to cover her up. Before I knew it, I stretch out my arms as if I was a wall trying to protect girl. I saw it with my own two eyes how fearless to horse's eyes is. However, the thing is that it's not fear alone.

"Stop!" I shouted on top of my lungs as I tried to stop the horse from hurting us. The horse pulls up his upper body as he tried to have a momentum to stomp us hard in the ground.

"Alexis-chan!" I heard the voice of Meter senpai not far away from us.

"Hirasawa!" The voice of Jiro as he shouted back still trying to stop me until the end. Even though, I can't move away anymore. I stand steady as I wait the horse to stomp me and shut my eyes.

However, to my surprise instead of stomping me, he stomps the ground infront of me. As if he is not panicking and trying to relax himself from the scene, he made. I reach out my hand to caress his neck and console him at the same time.

"Alexis-chan, stop it. He might get mad again!" Meter senpai's anxious voice was the icebreaker of the silent atmosphere.

"Don't worry, I got him, I got him." I answered back to her. I tried to approach him, still reaching out until he calmed down a bit. I touch his nose down to his neck and try to brush it with my bare hands. The mad horse is hesitant at first but suddenly becomes a tender horse.

"It's ok now, good boy, good boy." I assured him.

"It's ok now, Meter senpai. I exclaimed as she heaves a deep sigh after she was assured to the situation.

"Alright, the thing is over, you can go back to what you are doing." Meter senpai announced to the students who are at the scene and watching. The students tried to console each other and help others to cope up in their duties. In addition, everything turned back to normal.

"I was so worried when you tried to stop that horse, Alexis-chan." Ayaka comes to me panting with that anxious face that greets me.

"Don't worry Ayaka I'm fine. Nothing happened bad to me." I assured back.

"Thank goodness, no one gets hurt. If it weren't you didn't stop him, maybe a lot of casualties will be hurt." Meter senpai exclaimed.

"But, Alexis-chan. Never do that again." Meter senpai commanded before she takes her leave.

"(Deep sigh) Alexis-chan, you are so brave. How did you do it?" Ayaka questioned.

"I have a background on horses, and I studied them for quite some time." I answered back to her.

"This horse is so fierce, now I'm afraid to even touch him. He might even attack me if I tried to touch him." She scoffed.

"Don't worry, horses are intelligent animals, maybe he has a reason why he acted like that. But he is fine now, you can even touch him."

"Maybe next time, Alexis-chan I have some paper works to do. But do be careful." Ayaka said her cautions before leaving the place. 

I was still brushing the neck of the horse when suddenly someone grasps my hand from behind. Because of my surprise, the horse also was shocked. The moment I turned my eyes on my back I saw Jiro's anxious eyes. I forgot that he was there all this time.
