Chapter 12: Unseen

(Alexis' POV) 

I finish my works in school when I decided to go home. Then suddenly my phone ring. I grasps inside my pocket. I look at the name on the screen and push the answer button.

"Hello?"

"Hirasawa-san it's me." I heard a familiar voice on the other line.

"Kanno sensei, you called?"

"Yes, I have an assignment for you. See me right away."

"Yes, sensei." When Kannon sensei called that means, there is a problem. I walk fast and hurriedly as I take taxi so that I can go home. When I got at the hotel, I hurriedly take a short shower and prepare myself. When I'm done, I ride on my car and drive it fast until I arrive at the police station. What am I doing here? You'll know soon enough. I open the door at the far side of the building.

"I'm here sensei." He turned his swiveled chair while holding a folder in his left hand and a paper at his right hand.

"I have an assignment for you." He said not taking his eyes off on the papers. He must be very busy.

"Read this and you will know." He handed me a folder, probably a case. You must be thinking what I am doing here? Yes, I am a detective more like an apprentice here. I started working here when I was transferred here. Kanno sensei knows who I really am. He is one who helps me back those years. Because he has a high authority, I was able to change my name and destined me here in Japan.

I took the papers and read it. It was an assault of three high school students. The first victim was a boy, which was hit in the head while he was in his way home. The second victim was also a boy who was hit in the head when he was in the street. But the last victim intrigues me. The last victim was a girl, who was hit to death. The first two victims said that the killer wears a black trench coat, a hat and a scarf that covers his face, and they are attack at the same time of 6:30.

"What is the problem with these cases?" I asked of him while busy analyzing the papers in his hands.

"It was a serial killer."

"Well, probably yes." Then he handed me some pictures.

"These are the evidences. I don't want anybody else know this. And if you have a clue about these, call me right away. And warn your friends to be careful " That what he said before I leave the place, another assignment indeed. I guess my stay here in Japan would be that memorable.

I lazily sat down at my sofa when I decided to study the case. I took the pictures that sensei give me. But what does he means that I keep it a secret? Maybe some high officials or famous people are involved in here. Maybe, just maybe. When I look at the picture, something caught my eye. A letter wrote by the killer. The letter was written crook and all the letters are written in English. The killer wants us to warn on something, that is what I think. The letter contains these:

At first, I think that it is just a prank to divert what we think. But something bothers me about the letter. This is just a simple letter, but it seems to say something very important, maybe, what the killer wants or his next move. But what is it, I was wondering. I better do this tomorrow because I was feeling sleepy. It has been a long day.
