Chapter 9: Unraveled
(Meter's POV)
There's only 2 weeks before the School Festival and there are lots of preparations that has to be done. (Deep sigh) I don't know it will be this hard, but as long as there is coordination in every class, I don't have to worry that much. I better finish this so that I can work on the schedules of every class. During my deep thought, my phone suddenly ring and echoed in the empty room that I was in. I grasp my phone inside my bag and stare at the name flashing in the screen. I slide it open and press the answer button.
"Hello?"
"Meter-san! It's been a while since I heard your voice." Said the voice in the other line.
"Is there something I can do for you, Yukitaka?" Yukitaka Shisui, 24 years old and eldest grandson of Yuzume Shisui, a good friend of grandpa. Grandpa recruited him to be my fiancée, always insisting me to have a date every time he comes home to Japan. That's right, Shisui Enterprises is one of the biggest company here in Japan. They develop video games and sell them not only here in Japan but throughout the world. I don't like him because his arrogant and dominant.
"I want to meet you when I came back." As I said he's dominant and I don't like dominant men, I really hate them.
"And? When will you come back?" I questioned.
"Maybe in 2 weeks from now."
"Is that so? Then it's ok with me."
"Then it's settled, I know you're busy right now because of the School Festival. But don't forget to remember me, ok? I will call you later."
"Ok, bye" I said without interest, after he end the call I put it back inside my bag.
"Did he call you again?" Too much to my surprised I suddenly look at who talks and it was Sho himself.
"Uhm...did you finish the last week's report?" I scoffed to divert the conversation.
"Why do you always divert the conversation whenever we talk about Yukitaka?" He inquired while he steps towards me and handed me a folder of the report.
"What are you talking about?" I averted my eyes and lift my eyeglasses so that he can't see my emotions I need to hide.
"I was just asking if he called you." He asked again.
"Why do you care about my private life?"
"I know your tone, you don't like him, don't you?" He said as he descended his face towards me so that he can see me in my level.
"So? What does it have to you? Why do you care about that thing, if I like him or not?" His expression becomes anxious as he stared at me intimately.
"We all know that you don't like him that much. So why do you always protects him whenever he did something wrong. And we know that he is not a good man for you." He exclaimed as a-matter-of-fact in my face.
"Do I need your advice whenever I make my decision? You are not even an important person in my life, so why do you always interfere in my business?" I answered back to him. He remained quiet then speaks suddenly.
"Ok, you win. I will not interfere with your business."
"That's better, and then you can get out now." I commanded him. With the last look in his face, I saw sadness in his eyes. I know I blew his pride. But it doesn't matter to me. Only sad memories are coming to me whenever I remembered that memories that we created to break our relationship, and I don't want to remember it. It hurts so much that I thought I would never stand up on my own.
