Chapter 13: Tainted Heart

(Alexis' POV) 

I must be right this time. If not she might be in great danger. That guy! Why does he have to show up right now? If my deduction is right, I know where he will show up. But we don't have much time. That killer assaults his victims at 6:30 pm in a wide area where nobody is there. He used hard thing to hit the victim for the first two victims, and he let them live. We had better hurry until that time comes up.

(Ayaka's POV) 

I am getting a weird feeling since I leave the house this morning. As if someone was following me wherever I go. I look around but I don't see any suspicious person. So I continue to walk on the alley not far from my home. I decided to walk because I want to catch some fresh air going home. When I turn to a street, I heard some noise not far from me.

"Is someone in there?" I called out but nobody answered. Maybe it's just my hallucination or I'm just imagining things. As I turned around, I bump to something infront of me.

"Ouch! What the--." I held my nose and as I lift my head to see what that is. My eyes grew big to the person infront of me.

"Yuji!?" I don't believe that he was infront of me.

"Are you trying to shock me to death? God I was surprised." I hold my chest as I heaved deeply.

"Why are you alone?" He speaks angrily.

"And what is it to you?" I said bluntly to him.

"Will you stop acting like that?" Before I reply to him, I saw a shadow behind him. My eyes widen for the shadow move. Before I knew it, Yuji pushes me down on the ground. Then I heard something was hit hard.

"Damn it!" I heard Yuji cursing. When I was about to turned to look what was happening, he grabs my arm and help me get up fast and the last thing I know we are running so fast.

"What is happening, Yuji!?" But I didn't get a reply.

"Who was that!?"  

"Don't look back!" He commanded.

"Don't look back!" He said calmly this time. I didn't know what happened, but I felt that there is someone is following us. I can clearly heard footsteps behind us. I was tempted to look back. My eyes widen and forming hot liquid as my heart pounding harder and my breathing become slower. I saw that person that brings my nightmares back. Now, bad memories came rushing in my head and got goose bumps. I don't know how or this is real or another nightmare of mine but the only I felt was the hot liquid rushing down my cheeks. He was there following us. We are just running endlessly until we are out of our breath. Then suddenly, Yuji stumbles on the ground. I went to him to help him get up. As I touch his face, I felt a liquid running down his face. Blood. I froze by the sight of blood. Was he hit?

"Yuji, what happened to you? Answer me?" He stares at me silently as I was panicking and trembling not just in fear but in despair. I didn't anticipate that this day will come unexpectedly. As if that day was a déjà vou. The same thing was occurring now.

"You can't escape from me." Said by the voice behind us, which was so familiar to me. Yuji pushes me back and get up from the ground.

"Get away from her!" Yuji shouted at the top of his lungs.

"You are still the same, Usami-kun." He steps closer to us.

"I was so lonely in the cell, didn't you know that?" He smiled at us devilishly.

"Why did you come back to us!?"

"Didn't I tell you? I was lonely in the cell!" He turns mad and advances us harshly without taking his evil sight on us. Yuji runs towards him as I sat their frozen. The same feeling I felt the same time I was in this situation. Takamura draws his club to hit Yuji, but the latter swiftly dodge it with his reflexes. However, not long after Yuji was hit in the abdomen that he fell on the ground in pain.
