Chapter 21: A Heart's Confession

(Alexis' POV) 

The parade was such a success. I am sure Meter senpai is so happy about it. It is almost lunch break when we decided to take a rest. All of us are dining in the cafeteria while discussing the parade.

"I can't believe you did that Meter?" Kannon senpai retorted.

"Well, I can't help it, you know." She said while sipping her orange juice and scanning for the afternoon's events.

"Hah! You just want to be with Sho, right?" Suddenly Meter senpai choke her drink and coughing heavily.

"Hey, senpai are you alright?" I pass her the napkin and pat her back.

"What did you say, Kannon? It's not even true!"

"Huh? Then why are blushing right now? Is what I just said is true?" We all look at Meter senpai with puzzled look, as her face turns red in embarrassment.

"I think you are benefited in that parade the most, Kannon." Kannon senpai's eyes widen in shock and press her lips.

"Nani? (What?) You plan all of these. And you haven't told us. You just set us up!"

"That is why it's called surprise, right." Kannon senpai look away angrily.

"Sigh, why didn't they just admit it already? They are just running in the bush. We all know that they like each other." Ayaka mumbled.

"Well, I didn't know that, did I?"

"I hope our plan will be a success."

"I know it will."

The afternoon events were sports and games that we conducted. Some students participate in the games because of the prizes that the school will give. And of course I did participate. There was the 300-meter run, which I won easily.

"Yay! Alexis sugoi! hayaina (amazing, so fast)." Ayaka complimented.

"Not really, let's go to the others?"

"Hai!" Ayaka and I participate in the 500-meter run.

"Alexis I'm gonna do my best, I cannot lose!" She said in high spirit.

"Gambatte! (Let's do our best!)" We take our position and ready to run while waiting the signal, and then the gun shot. I sprint in all my might to lead the race. I glance back at me and I see Ayaka behind me while the others are far away from us.

Zoom!

"You are so fast Alexis"

"You are too, it's great that you took second place." Panting so hard, I heard someone clapping behind us and as I turn to face him, I was surprise.

"Ken! What are you doing here?" I ask him excitedly.

"I'm just passing by and I thought I should visit you a bit."

"Uhm, this is Ayaka Hisashi my friend." I introduced to him while he held his hand to Ayaka.

"It's nice to meet you, I'm Ken Toujou, Alexis' friend."

"It's my pleasure Ken." After our short chat, Ken bids us goodbye.

"He is so sweet Alexis, and I think I'm starting to like him."

"Haha, you are right."

"Is he your boyfriend?" She asks out of the blue.

"No, why do you ask?"

"Uhm, I'm just curious. Because I think he likes you a lot."

"Ken and I are a just friend, that's all."
