My cast came off two weeks ago because it healed sooner than expected. Today is the National Archery Games. Each school offers up one boy and one girl archer to compete in the Games. All together, 24 students, or 'tributes', from each of the twelve districts take part in the competition.
The Games go in order of districts. District One's male tribute goes first then the female and so on in a simple test to see if they can hit the bullseye or the next ring outside the bullseye from 10 metres away. Those who couldn't hit it are eliminated from the Games. The remaining tributes must shoot the same target from 20 metres away. Those who didn't hit the two center rings are removed from the Games. Then we must hit the bullseye or the next two rings from 30 metres away. The next round consists of shooting a moving deer. The final round is shooting flying fake birds. Is there are still people left, they keep on tossing up birds until someone misses.

After Round 1; most tributes were successful but Jonathan Gillings from District Ten and Blight Notton from District Seven. After Round 2; Glimmer Johnson from District One, Hank Scails from District Four, Johanna Mason from District Seven and Geronimo Albez from District Eight. After Round 3; Ivy Seeders from District Two, Copper Lavotar from District Three, Oli Ver from District Six, Tressal Obarina from DIstrict Six, Jemmy Cardonia from District Eight, Amber Sheave from District Nine and May Brate from District Ten. After Round 4; Ky Redricks from District Two, Currents Steele from District Three, Liberty Green from District Four, Luca Jackels from District Five, Finch Hillera from District Five, Zakary Sheave from District Nine, Bailey Weat from District Eleven and Gale Hawthrone from District Twelve. After Round 5, it's only Gloss and I because Rue Jones from District Eleven got eliminated.
The birds fly up for Gloss and he hits them all but the last one. If I miss more than one I am out and Gloss will win but I won't miss, I never miss. I gather myself into proper formation and shoot the birds with my bow and arrow. One after another they fall to the ground and afterwards, there is no sound, everyone is staring at me in awe.
I won.
