Broken Strings

I literally jumped when someone shouted.

Someone giggled behind me and when I looked at her my face lit again.

"OMGGG. ATE KCCCCC!!!!!!" I squealed.

I ran to her and she hugged me. My heart felt really happy when I saw my ate KC.

"I missed you so so so muuuuuch." I said and hugged her tight.

She laughs at me. "I missed my baby girl, too."

We broke the hug and I squealed again. So much joy in my heart.

"Kisses?" Someone called me.

I looked at her. Wow, now she knows me again? "'Te May."

"Hello po miss KC." She greeted ate KC.

Ate KC just smiled at her and she looked at me again. "We'll have dinner later, ok? Don't forget that."

"I won't, ate."

"You ditched us kasi the last time."

"I'm sorry, ate." I sincerely said.

"Cheer up, baby. I was just joking." She said and smiled at me. "So, see you later ok?"

I nodded and ate KC left me. I'll be having a dinner date with her and kuya Ali.

"Tawag na tayo sa dressing room." Maymay said at nauna ng umalis.

I held my chest, I felt the pain. I closed my eyes, what's wrong heart? Hang in there, we will be okay.

Pagkabukas ko ng pintuan ay tawanan kaagad ang sumalubong sakin. Pero noong nakita nila ako ay iniwas nila mga tingin nila sa akin.

"May mga kaibigan talagang magkakaroon ng malaking inggit sayo no?" Maymay's best friend.

"Hayaan mo na, bes." Maymay said and looked at me from the mirror.

I sighed. What did I do nanaman ba? Ako nanaman ba ang may mali?

"Kisses, aayusan na kita." Ate RB said. I nodded.

I sat down next to Maymay but she never talked to me. I shook my head.

"Huy, Edward. Look at Maymay. She's so pretty no?" I heard Maymay's bestfriend.

I did not heard Edward's answer caused ate RB was talking to me.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah." I said and nodded. "Ate, can I use headphones?"

She nodded. "Yes, sure."

Nilagay ko na yung headphones ko at nakinig nalang ng music. Ate RB smiled at me thru the mirror.

"Kisses, you have to practice the 'di malayo pero di rin ganoon kalapit'." Ate KC said.

"Ate, she's my best friend po."

"If she's your best friend bakit di siya masaya para sayo? Bakit ang lungkot niya kapag nakakakuha ka ng awards?"

I sighed. "Pero kasi ate.."

"Naiintindihan ko, Kisses." She said. "Sobra sobrang pagpapahalaga binibigay mo sa kanya but she can't returned it to you. Maybe she does but for the show lang."

That's when reality hits me so hard. She never been there for me. Everyone thought that she was, but no. She never really cared about me.

"You love her so much but she don't. It's time for you to care for yourself."

Ate KC hugged me. "There are more people around you na sobra kang pinapahalagahan. Focus on that baby."
