He came home a few months later to find their house quiet, a small card on the table, and a suit and jacket hanging up in the kitchen.

He opened the card and smiled, before placing it down and jogging up stairs, scooping up the suit before he went for a e shower.

"Congratulations Corp... I knew you'd sail through. Get yourself ready... Taxi is booked for 7.30. Pack an overnight bag. Yours, always, Super doc xx"

"What are you planning? I can't wait to see you... I know already that you'll be the most beautiful girl in the room xx."

He couldn't help but shake his head as he entered the posh hotel, following the waitress through to where Connie was waiting for him. The restaurant was small, with most tables filled and he couldn't see her immediately. "Your wife is waiting for you on a table on the balcony," she explained, "she's very beautiful,"

"She's not my wife just yet," he admitted, "but soon hopefully."

She stood up as she saw him and he took her hands before gently spinning her around. She placed her hands on his chest and he moved a hand so it rested gently on her cheek,

"You look incredible," he smiled, kissing her lips gently, "I can't believe someone like you fell for someone like me,"

She wrapped her arms around his neck gently, "I fall more in love with you every day," she told him gently, her eyes sparkling as she ran one hand over his chest, "and I'm planning on marrying you... About time you start believing it."

They enjoyed sitting and eating and drinking together, and she meant what she had said. She enjoyed his company and she found herself falling more deeply in love with him every time they spent time like this together.

He took her hand, leading her around the table and pulling her so she sat on his lap. She smiled, "remember the first time we went for dinner?" She asked, "I was somewhat surprised you'd asked me,"

He placed his hand gently on her cheek, "you had me crazy for you after you performed a tracheostomy on the cliff edge," he admitted, watching how her smile widened.

"I would never have known," she told him honestly,

He tucked her hair behind her ear, "when you told me about the cancer, I felt something I hadn't felt before... I could almost imagine how brave you were, and all I wanted to do was hold you,"

She felt her eyes fill with tears, "Jacob,"

He sipped his wine, "that night I asked you for dinner... I couldn't believe you had turned up,"

"I'd have been foolish not to," she told him honestly.

"Come," smiled, taking his hand and leading him up to their room. "Wait here," she smiled, "I'll be back in a minute."

She appeared a few minutes later, wrapped in a silk dressing gown, her previously curly hair clipped up off her face.

"Jesus," he smiled, "this place is amazing,"

She undid her dressing gown, to reveal she was wearing nothing beneath, before she climbed into the hot tub on the concealed balcony.

He smiled, handing her a drink, before he removed his clothes and got in beside her.

She slipped onto his lap, gasping as one of his hands ran over her exposed nipple,

"You are so beautiful," he told her, groaning as she moved so she straddled his lap.

Her hands slipped down his stomach, her touch causing him to harden quickly,

"You need to be quiet if we do this out here," she smirked and his mouth covered hers, "you wouldn't be quiet if you were me," he uttered as she guided him into her.

Hours later she sat back against his chest, in between his legs as his hands slipped around her shoulders, his mouth kissing her cheek.

"I have something for you," she smiled, wiggling out of his grip before she pulled a slim envelope out of her bag and kneeling in front of him,

"What is it?" He asked and she smiled, "open it and find out."

He opened it quickly, his eyes meeting hers as he ran his fingers over the grainy image. She saw how his eyes filled with tears and she leaned forward, pressing her lips against his.

"You're pregnant?"

She nodded, "we're pregnant... You're going to be a daddy in six months time,"

"Connie... I..."

She placed his hand on her stomach, watching how he ran his thumb over her stomach, "I didn't think it was possible to feel like this about someone," he admitted and she snuggled back into him,

"I love you Corp... And I know our little one will love you just as much."

She fell asleep and he found he couldn't help but watch her.

She woke first the following morning, and when he didn't wake for a while she pulled on her running gear and headed out for a jog. She thought back to running in Afghanistan with Jacob, and she smiled at the thought of bringing up their first child with him.

"Good morning," she smiled, her hair was pulled up off her face and her face was free of makeup.

He handed her a smoothie, before pulling her into him and kissing her gently, "you ran without me?"

She nodded, "you were fast asleep and I know you wouldn't have been asleep for a while last night,"

A knock on the door interrupted them and he smiled, "go and sit outside, I'll bring breakfast through."

She sat onto his lap happily as they ate, "you don't look pregnant," he uttered, his dark eyes sparkling,

"I'm only twelve weeks," she smiled,

"When did you suspect?"

"Only a week ago," she admitted, "I was almost too scared to tell you incase I'd got it wrong,"

"And your still allowed to run?"

She nodded, "I can do anything I did before, as long as I can manage it,"

"Apart from drink coffee..." He teased and she pouted,

"Don't remind me."
