I contemplate my answer before finally speaking.

"No," I answer honestly. He nods slowly. "I'll tell you why. You came to me when you needed my help, telling me that you were a suspected traitor, and when I let you in, you didn't think to tell me what you knew, to prove your innocence. About Kyle. About you being there at the first fucking meeting! You could have come to me or my dad and told us what was happening! At least that way we could have stopped everything, and maybe even caught Kyle before anything started, with your help, but you kept quiet. Why?" I ask getting louder as I speak. "How do I know that you're not keeping more from me? How do I know you are actually innocent?" He opens his mouth, before closing it again. I look away from him, not able to face him. My feelings about Adrian were buried when Kyle killed Reid, so I have not been able to face them, and now that I can everything is coming flooding out.

"I'll go," he mumbles getting up. "I can obviously see that I am just making things worse."

I let out a short humorless laugh, raising my eyebrows at him.

"You're going to leave without answering my questions? Really? When accusations are being fired at you, you're going to leave without facing them? Do you even care about me, or my dad? You sure don't act like it, keeping those things secret from us," I ask getting up from my own chair, facing off with him. I see the anger in his eyes grow.

"Don't you dare say that!" he yells jabbing his finger towards my face. "You know that you and your dad are like family."

"Families don't keep secrets from each other!" I yell back.

"THEY DO IF THEY THINK IT COULD HURT THEM!"Adrian yells the loudest I have heard from him. By now everyone in the house can hear our argument. He loses his steam as soon as the last word leaves his lips. "You're not questioning why your dad didn't tell you about the revolution sooner..."

"That's different."

"Is it? Why didn't he tell you sooner?" I glare at him. How dare he bring my dad into this! Knowing I'm not going to answer him, he continues, "He thought he could deal with it, without you knowing, I even told you that, and that's same exact reason I kept it from you. I knew it would tear you apart, which it has, and I wanted to stop that. Don't tell me that if I told you, you would take it happily. You would hunt him down before anything could be done, and then he would know that his secret was out in the open. All I wanted was to keep you safe." I stare at him, speechless, not knowing what to say in response. Guilt starts to creep up. I doubted him again and he proved me wrong for the second time. I don't even register my door opening and a guard storming in, taking Adrian by the arm. The sound of the door closing is like popping a water balloon. Suddenly I lose my form and crumple to the floor, tears streaming down my face. Adrian was trying to keep me from feeling this, and I tortured him because of it. His words remind me of Kyle and how he used to be. The whole situation has me curling into a ball, my body shaking from the sobs. I mourn the loss of Kyle, this being the first time that I have let myself look into the room where I pushed all of my emotions about the betrayal and everything that he has caused and done.

Here you go! I am sorry for the long wait! Good news is that the next part is going to be up on next Sunday, and then there will be a short wait again (but not as long as this time), before the updates become regular (weekly) again! Yay! Sorry that it took longer than I expected, but what was keeping me busy is done now!
