Always chapter 2

CHAPTER 2
This is my first story on wattpad so sorry if it sucks

JEN POV
I am still in shock as I walk out of Nick's house. I am disoriented and a total wreck. I don't know what to do. "Jennifer Shrader Lawrence, pull yourself together. Calm down." I think to myself. I need to call someone. Who though? I can't call my parents, it's too personal. Same for my brothers. I don't really have a best friend... but I do have Josh. There! that's who I'll call. If he doesn't answer though...
Sighing, I dial his number.

JOSH POV
My phone rings just as I get to the grocery store. I check to see who it is, and it's Jen. I am surprised because she has been so busy with Nick that we never talk. Ugh. Nick. He acts nice but I can tell what his real personality is. He doesn't deserve Jen. She should have a nice guy who treats her well and makes her feel special. In other words, not Nick.

Glad to hear my best friend's voice, I answer.
"Hey Jen, what's up? I haven't talked to you in a while. How's Nick?"
As soon as I'm done she bursts into tears.
"Joshy, can you come to my house? And bring ice cream. It's an emergency"
"Ok I'll be right over" I say calmly, but inside I am totally lost what happened? Is she okay?

JEN POV
"Cool it." I give myself a pep talk as I wait for Josh to get here. Everything will be fine. Hopefully. Uh oh. I'm starting to doubt myself. That's not good. Again, I burst into tears.

JOSH POV
I ring Jen's doorbell and pray that the outcome of this visit turns out well.

JEN POV
After what seems like forever, the doorbell rings. Josh comes in and asks "is everything alright?" and "why were you crying?".
Immediately, things start rushing out. I went to surprise Nicholas with a gift for our three year anniversary but when I got to his house something was off so I went upstairs and there were weird noises coming from his bedroom and I thought he was watching a video but it turns out for almost 3 months now he's been cheating on me with.... With....
I fall silent when I realize what I have to do. I value Josh's relationships but I value honesty and happiness more.
"With... Vanessa Hudgens. "

JOSH POV
For a moment it doesn't quite register.
Then like a bullet it hits me. My girlfriend has been cheating on me for 3 months. And we've been dating for four.

JEN POV
I study Josh's intake of the news. He seems so taken back. He's like a sad little puppy. All I want to do is hug him and cry with him.
"I'm so sorry" I say in a quiet voice.
"I thought it would be better if you knew the truth".
"Thank you" he whispers.
"Nick didn't deserve you. You should have a caring person who makes you feel like the most loved and special girl in the world, because you are." Josh exclaims.
I'm so glad I have Josh. I don't even have words to express how thankful I am. All I do is hug him. And he knows what that hug means.
The rest of the time we cuddle up with our blankets, eat ice cream and watch movies.
"Joshy?" I whisper as the Mean Girls credits roll.
"Yeah Jeny?"
"This is the best breakup I've ever had"
Josh smiles. "Me too".

JOSH POV
I've never felt so at home. Then I realize there is a slight problem with mine and Vanessa's breakup. We live together.
"Um, Jen?"
"Yeah?" she responds sleepily.
"I live with Vanessa."
She sits up almost immediately.
"Well this is a fine kettle of fish isn't it?" She puts her hand on her chin.
"Well you could always stay with me until you find another apartment."
"Sounds like a plan."

JEN POV
Josh sounds tired.
"Why don't we head upstairs?" I suggest.
"I will most certainly take up that offer" Josh says with a smile.
We go to my bedroom, not even bothering to change. We just lie there and talk. It feels like the perfect moment.
