After I left the house I had to go on my rounds, but I couldn't help but worry about Alphys. My mind was clouded and my heart ached because she wasn't around. If she stays in that form too long then she will be lost and I might have to... No don't think like that Undyne you will save her, you have to save her, you will save.
"Yo Undyne!" I jumped at the voice and pulled my spears out and pointed them at whoever it was, but then I looked and I saw a scared Monster Kid. So I put them down and took a deep breath. 'Undyne are you alright?" He asked as he gave me a small smile.
"Y-Y-Yeah you just kind of startled me." I said truthfully and he looked at me worried.
"That's isn't like you, are you alright you look I don't know down like before. Is everything alright?" He asked me as he sat beside me because I sat on the ground with my head in my hands.
"Yeah, I'm fine Kid, just been really stressed out. Things haven't been the best for me right now. Just trying to get my mind out of the clouds you know. It's been, well... Bad... " I said truthfully because all I could think about right now was Alphys and how she isn't herself . Ugh I hate not being around her, it's like my heart is getting ripped out of my chest.
"Yo Undyne, why are you crying? I've never seem you like this dude. Why don't you just take a break from your duties for just tonight. " I wiped the tears off my face and stood up.
"I can't kid... This town needs me and and duty calls. I can't just take a break like I did before. I'll be fine kid, promise. " I gave him a small smile as I wiped another tear from my face.
"Undyne, sometimes heroes like you need a break every once in a while you know. Asgore and Toriel will understand I promise. Just take it easy alright." He was trying so hard to cheer me up and it was working a little bit, but I couldn't back down not tonight anyways. I put my hand on his head and rubbed it.
"Kid, a hero's work is never done not when there are a lot of monsters out here needing my help. Hero's can't just take a break because we have a duty to do and that is to keep everyone safe like you. Now go home and get some sleep alright , you're parents must be really worried about you. See you around Kid." When I turned to walk away I heard someone yell and when I turned around Monster Kid was nowhere. 'Kid! KID!" I yelled and I heard him scream down the alleyway. "KID, I'M COMING!" I yelled and jumped into action.
"UNDYNE HELP ME! " He screamed and I ran faster and I caught up to the person who had him. I froze when I saw them as my knees fell to the ground. No, it can't be, it just can't. I stood up weakly as my knees buckled.
"Let Kid go please... I don't want to hurt you, but if I have too I will... Drop Kid now Alphys , please. " I said slowly as her eyes met mine, but they weren't hers, but the beast inside of her. 'Let him go, please. It's me Alphys , it's Undyne. You're wife... Please don't hurt him I beg you or I will do something I will regret." My voice shook as I was speaking to her and my muscles felt weak under my armor. It was like I couldn't breath or bare the thought of hurting her.
She looked at me and came after me with Kid in her arms. I donged her, but barely as I rolled out of the charge. She was using him as a shield, if I attacked her there is a chance I will hit Kid as well. Damn it! She charged at me again and this time she got a hit on me and I flew backwards into a building.
Damn, she was faster than me and much stronger. I never wanted it to come to this, but I have no choice. Attacked her and hurt her or let her pass me and take Kid with her. I couldn't do either of those and I felt useless, but I had to chose. She charged at me again and I got my spears and threw them at her arms and she yelled and Kid fell to the ground.
She then disappeared and I was alone with Kid on the ground. I ran to him and thank god he was still breathing. I picked him up and wrapped him in my jacket and carried him home. Once I reached his house I knocked on the door and his mom answered.
"Kid! Honey, get over here!' She yelled and her husband came running to her side as I gently put Kid in his mother's arms. 'What happened?" She asked me.
"He was talking to me and I told him to come home, but when I walked away I heard him yell. So I chased after him and a monster was trying to take him away, but.... I stopped them and than they disappeared after I... Hit them... He's fine, he's just knocked out. He has no broken bones, but please keep an eye on him for me and tell me how he is doing. I have to inform Asgore about this. " I told her the truth, but not the part about Alphys taking him away. I walked away, but someone grabbed me with his teeth and I saw it was Kid.
"Thank you Undyne... " Was all he said before passing out again. I frowned and rubbed his head.
"Any time Kid. " I said with tears going down my face. God, what has Lydia done to you Alphys? I am so sorry for hurting you... Damn it! I walked away and ran back home.
As I ran into the house I didn't say or tell anyone what was going on, I just kept running until I reached my room and locked the door. As I put my back against the door and slowly began to slide down as I covered my eyes and cried.
"Undyne, what happened? " I looked up and I saw Chara rise from the bed rubbing her eyes. I didn't speak to her, I just stayed there crying as I felt myself shake.
"I... I... Saw her... She... She took Monster Kid... She almost got away with him... But I couldn't let her... I... Oh god... I hurt her... I attacked her... I... Was... Too ... Late... " I cried into my hands. I just wanted to die, I didn't want to be here right now. I hurt my one true love and I lost her... The Alphys I know was gone...

Kate here, I am so sorry for the late update guys. It's been a rough few months for me honestly. I still can't believe this story has 1.68k reads it just blows my mind.
