I wake up to the irritating sound of my alarm clock. So to fix it, I slam my fist down onto the top. Well that worked.
My name is Katniss Everdeen. I am 16 years old with black hair always in a braid and grey eyes. I have a mother and 12 year old sister, Prim. My father died in a mine explosion when I was 11. Today is my first day at Mockingjay Sports Academy. My best friend, Gale Hawthorne, attends there for achery but we haven't talked since he was accepted 3 years ago. I'm at the academy for archery and track. I have never had a boyfriend and don't intend on getting one...
I reluctantly get out of bed and start a shower, letting the warm droplets cover my body. I wash my hair in a coconut shampoo and use strawberry shower gel. Then I get out, dry myself and let my hair air dry.
I examine my closet and pick out a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, a tight forest green strapped shirt, my brown leather jacket and brown ankle boot heels. I put it all on and decide to leave my hair in it's natural waves. I apply a small amount of mascara and lip balm and head downstairs.
When I get there, I see Prim finishing off a bowl of cereal.
"Hey little duck." I greet.
"Quack!" she replies and I smile.
I make some toast and by the time it is finished, we have 10 minutes before school starts at 8:30.
"Come on, we have to go now."
We start the walk to school and get there with 4 minutes to spare.
"Okay, have a great day little duck." I say and kiss her forehead and hug her.
"Bye Katniss!" she says while walking to the primary school.
I begin walking to the school by myself when I see a familiar boy with black hair and grey eyes.
"GALE!" I yell.
"Catnip? Catnip!" he yells and runs over to me and engulfs me in a hug.
"Wow, you don't look any different apart the higher amount if muscle." I say with a smirk and I swear that he blushed a bit.
"Well, you don't too much different but you do look...well." he says awkwardly and scratches the back of his neck.
"It's okay Gale." I say, trying not to laugh at his constipated-looking face.
"Come. I'll introduce you to my friends."
He drags me over to a group of 8 teenagers. 4 boys and 4 girls.
"Hey guys, this is Katniss. Katniss, this is everyone. That's Annie and Finnick. Glimmer and Marvel. Johanna, Clove is my girlfriend. Peeta. And that's Cato." he explains, pointing to each of them but one catches my eye.
He is tall, well built, has amazing blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. What was his name again?
