Another Beginning

• TWENTY FIVE •

My first day back is surprisingly pleasant,  I thought that I will have a have a few setbacks,  but nothing, and I am glad. 

I joined the other two hosts and sat behind the table on the stage for one of  the segments of the show.  While waiting, we are all talking and joking around. The timer gave us forty six seconds until we go live again.

I look in front of me and saw on the dummy board that I am giving my spiel after the  two hosts did theirs.

And then the floor director gave  us the signal that we are live.

When it was my turn to speak, the audience were screaming and chanting my name, I look at their direction and waved, making them to scream some more, but above all the screaming and noise, I heard the most beautiful sound, "Daddy! Daddy!"

And there they are, my twins calling me, excited to see me, both are jumping up and down,  being withheld by Mamaten's and Sam's grasp.  And my beautiful fiancée, Maine, so high-fashioned looking in an all black ensemble that shows off her shoulders,  standing at the side of the stage, away from the camera's view.  Looking at her right now,  she can actually join us on the stage,  she looks way better dressed than any of us (hosts).

They came to surprise me at work.

I grinned, my dimples getting deeper and deeper by the second.

I wanted to rush towards them, but we are still live and I can't just stand up and be with them.  But the good thing is,  one of the senior hosts noticed them too.

"Uy!  Alden, mukhang meron ka atang bisita." He tells me on live TV. 

I nodded and smiled.  Everybody saw my excitement, even the audience.

I saw the floor director talking on the microphone of his headset and then gestured for me, that it's okay to approach them. 

I stood up and rushed towards Katie and Enzo, MamaTen and Sam released them from their grasp and soon the twins are running towards me too, oblivious of the fact that we are on the stage and a lot of people are watching them.

The cameraman followed me and even without looking, I know that we are on the monitor.  I carried them both in my arms and hugged them tight.

"I miss you daddy!"  Katie whined, hugging me tight.

"Oh, I miss you too princess."  I replied.

Daddy, wook!"  Enzo tells me, forcing my face to look at the direction he is pointing.

"I know buddy, can you wave at them?"

Enzo waved coyly, and smiled.  Katie following what his brother is doing. 

The audience were all screaming and swooning.  I can hear a lot of ahhh's!   I guess my Enzo and Katie just captured the hearts of the audience.

"Alden,  upo kayo sa panel."  The floor director instructed me.

I sat back on my chair, sitting the twins on each of my legs. 

"Hi kids!"  The senior host, sitting beside me greeted them.

"Hewwo."  Katie greeted him back.
