Another Beginning

• TWENTY ONE •

I let out a long contented sigh and leaned back on the headboard.  Now if we just try to remember to get dressed before sunrise, life will be perfect!

"Maine, this chocolate cake is delicious!"  Sam tells me,  as he put another forkful of the decadent cake in his mouth.

"Yes, you should sell this."  MamaTen seconded.

We are sitting on the cushioned pool lounger on the outdoor pool of the condo building.  We decided to just stay in today and relax, and since it is late summer,  the weather is really nice, and a little cool. 

Richard and the twins are in the pool enjoying the water.  They went before I did, as I was trying to finish baking the Cavity Maker Chocolate Cake for our afternoon snack as per the twin's request. 

And so when I entered the pool area, carrying the basket with goodies, wearing my black bikini under a sheer cover up, they were already there.

"Richard hasn't seen you yet right?"  Sam asked as I was removing my cover up.

"He already did." I replied, laying the bath sheet that I brought on the lounger so I can lay down. 

"Well yeah, but he saw you while you were sitting down right?"  MamaTen asked, a smirk forming on his face.

"I think so."  I lay on the lounger, closed my eyes and let the sun soak me up. 

"Sam, how's everything back home?"  I asked.

"The usual, the only difference is that, Richard's management has slowly accepted everything and they are just waiting for his announcement.  And then they'll take it from there."

"Oh, but is that nice?"

"Definitely,  because before they are so closed off about the issue."

"Okay."

"Why, do you have concerns?"

"Not as much, I just don't want our existence in Richard's life to cause some issues with his career." 

"Oh please!  Richard is in show business,  even without issues, people will create issues if they want to."  MamaTen said in a huff.  He stood up, walked to the table and cut another slice of cake.

"Just be prepared Maine okay, MamaTen and I are here to help and support you." Sam said, reaching over, taking my hand.

I squeeze his hand and smiled at him. "Thanks Sam, MamaTen, I need all the help and support that I can get, especially now that I really don't know the world that the twins and I are about to enter."

"Maine, if there's one advice I am going to give you," I look at MamaTen who sat on the foot of the chair where I am lounging, I sit up and take the plate of cake he offered to me.

"What is it MamaTen?" I asked.

"Learn the language, " he said, "especially if you're already mingling with the press people. They will, most likely than not, make side comments in Filipino, so you need to understand what they're saying."
