Another Beginning

"Yes, I wike mommy's shoesh!" Katie chimed in, chewing on the asparagus spears she is eating.

"Oh dear! Well Richard, I guess an early retirement is not happening anytime soon for you!" Frances said, shaking her head.

I laughed with her, not really knowing what kind of shoes a Louboutin is.

"Tonight is full of first.  Thank you hon."  Maine snuggled in against me, her head resting on my shoulders,  my arms around her.

"I want this night to be very special and memorable for you hon,  a night that you will never forget."

"Oh hon, this is definitely one for the books!"  This horse drawn carriage ride, is the cherry on top."  She exclaimed.  I pulled her closer against me and just feel the love I have for this woman.

We are alone again, it's just Maine and I enjoying a horse-drawn carriage ride around the city under the late summer night sky.  The group went home when the cruise ended, MamaTen and Sam assured us that they will take care of the twins and tuck them to bed.

The city is calm now,  it's past ten and most of the shops along the avenue are closed.   There are a few people walking along the sidewalk.  I really love the independence and freedom I have here. It's been six days, six whole days that no one asked me for selfies, photos and autographs.  It's funny because I am actually the one asking for selfies with Maine and the twins.  My phone is loaded with it now.

"We are here."  The coachman announced.  I asked him to drop us in front of condo since we are passing by it on our way back.

I help Maine step down from the coach to the ground, grabbing her by the waist.

We greeted the night doorman as he pushed the elevator call button for us.

"This is reminiscent of our first night together. Only we were both drunk." Maine tells me, entering the elevator.

"I know, I remember you were giggling so hard."

"Because I need to pee so bad! Imagine, we finished two bottles of that really good limoncello."

"You remember."

"Of course I remember. That's one special day, that is forever engrained in my heart." She touches my cheek and walks out of the elevator.

"Do you think they are still awake?" Maine asked as I open the front door.

"Probably not, its almost twelve."

True enough, the whole condo is quiet and dark, except for the nightlight on the hallway.

"I'll just check the twins hon." She tells me. She takes me by the hand and leads me inside the twin's bedroom.

Both are already sleeping so soundly. Enzo is hugging his Iron Man stuffed toy while Katie is sleeping on her side, her special blanket kissing her cheeks.

Maine and I gave them both a kiss and bid them goodnight.

I turned their lamps off and followed Maine to our bedroom. I caught up with her as she was entering the room. I see a glint of smile on her face, her back on me. Holding her by the waist, I pull her against me, letting her feel how turned on I am.
