Challenge Yourself
By Fox-Trot-949: Hopeless Ruminations
(Quatrains / Monorhyme)Staring into coffee steam
Won't get me anywhere,
When all I want to do is scream,
So get me out of here.For here the place is hell,
Where screamers now reside;
So I'm not doing well
When I have to run and hide.I run and hide from them
In the shell of my own self,
In the silence of my gloom,
So that I won't hurt myself.The screams of day bleed through
To my nightly dreams of pain;
Now all I want to do
Is complain and complain
In the tempest of my brain,
Or cry out in the rain
When only screams remain,
Or hope and pray in vain
For this overbearing chain
To break when I'm insane
To those who think they're sane
To everyone's disdain . . .(To be continued...)
A/N: It's been a while since I posted anything for this collection, so I decided to vent several days' pain into this poem. Feels good to vent sometimes.
