Challenge Yourself
By Fox-Trot-93: (2) The Struggle [5/22/13]
(Sonnet)The cast is off; the stitches still remain;
I have the rigged use of my left hand;
The fingers start to curl upon command
But cannot hold for long beneath the strain;
The forearm twists and turns but can't regain
The full rotation that I could demand;
Nor can the forearm bend as I had planned
Past eighty-nine degrees without the pain;
Nor can the arm unbend without a sprain
The full one-eighty that my arm can stand:
But even when I try and try in vain,
I will not let these obstacles expand,
Impede or slow the progress of this plight,
As I intend to beat it—win the fight!(To be continued...)
A/N: This is another form of the Italian sonnet, ending with a quatrain and a couplet. I can move my hand and arm and type, but it's gonna take a lot of work to get back into shape. To illustrate how hard this rehabilitation has been, I've restricted the numbers of rhymes to just three. Just looking at this sonnet might boggle your minds. ( O_O )
