Josh had just finished playing Tear in my Heart. He looked down at Tyler, seeing if he was ready to go to the next song.
He heard a muffled screaming for a moment.
Not the kind of screaming you should hear at a concert.
This wasn't a good, excited form of screaming
This was a scream of fear.
Josh looks over his shoulder, staring at the curtain and the entrance of the stage as if he could see what was going on.
He couldn't hear everything, but he could hear bits and pieces.
"..... I don't know!" "Call an ambulance!" "..... She's pregnant!"
With those words Josh instantly knew who the people backstage were talking about.
They were talking about you.
Something had happened to you, and he wasn't about to sit here and wait to find out what it was.
Josh looked down at Tyler, terrified. Tyler looked back up at Josh, and Josh assumed that he had heard part of what was being said as well.
Josh shot out of his seat, the stool he was sitting on falling off of the platform and clanging to the ground. His feet hit the ground nearly at the same time, and Josh almost fell when he landed.
He didn't care. Josh began running as fast as he could, tearing the mic from himself and dropping it on his way to you.
He dodged people, and mostly pushed them out of the way rather than dodging them.
After what seemed like an hour, he finally found a large group of people huddled around something. To be more specific, someone.
Josh continued running, attempting to push through people as he got closer to you.
"Get out of my way! I have to get to her!" Josh shoved his way through the group of people until he finally got to you.
You were lying there, out cold on the floor.
Josh knelt down next to you, quickly pulling your head into his lap. He ran his thumb over your cheek, staring at your face with tears in his eyes.
He looked up at the crowd, anger filled. "Call the ambulance." "Y-Yes Josh. Is there any-" "CALL THE DAMN AMBULANCE." Josh repeated tensely.
He looked back down at you after the stagehand that had answered him fled away to call an ambulance.
It looked as though you were asleep, but this was so, so much more scary than you being asleep.
"(Y/N).... (Y/N) please wake up.... Please (Y/N) just open your eyes o-or say something." Josh's voice faded out into a whisper as tears stung his eyes.
"Please be okay..." Josh leaned down, touching his forehead to yours as he gently ran his hand across your pregnant stomach.
After a minute or so, he could hear the ambulance sirens pulling into the parking lot.
As soon as Josh heard the sirens, he picked you up from the ground, and hurried as fast as he could go the parking lot.
A crew of medics hurried to the back of the ambulance, pulling out a gurney to put you on.
When Josh met them at the back of the ambulance, they quickly put you into the gurney and put you in the ambulance.
"Would you like to ride in the back?" One of the medics asked, looking at Josh with a hurried look on his face. "Absolutely." Josh nodded, climbing into the back of the ambulance quickly.
After all of the medics were back in the vehicle, the sirens and lights immediately got turned on. They sped to the hospital, which was about 20 minutes away at a normal speed.
"What's the relation?" The medic in the back asked, flipping through a set of papers. "Husband." Josh responded, reaching down and grabbing your hand to hold during the ride there.
It wasn't long before you arrived at the hospital, and you were rushed in, Josh following closely behind all of the medics.
Within minutes, you were in a room and hooked up to several different machines.
Josh impatiently waited until he was able to hold your hand again, and hurried to hold it once he was able to.
Josh looked at you with a look of sadness and fear, tightening his grip on your half lightly.
"Please wake up..."
°°°
It had been about an hour since you had been admitted into the hospital.
The sound of hospital machines invaded your ears, and the smell of a hospital hit your nose at the same time. You didn't move though. You had no idea what was going on.
You could feel somebody's hand in your own, their fingers interlocked with yours. Slowly, you opened your eyes, the brightness overwhelming for only a second. Once you were able to see, Josh's face came into view.
"Josh?" You called out quietly as you say up, feeling as though talking at a normal volume would be too loud. Josh's head shot up, his eyes lighting up at the sound of your voice.
"Oh thank god." Josh's voice broke as tears welled in his eyes. He quickly got up and hugged you, his arms tightly wrapped around you. As he did, you could hear his uneven breathing from crying.
"Josh please don't cry..." You rubbed his back in comfort. "I was worried you would never wake up." Josh mumbled quietly into your shoulder. "What happened?" You asked, confused.
"I don't really know... I heard people freaking out about you and when I ran backstage, you were blacked out on the floor." Josh explained, still latched onto you.
"Is the baby okay...?" You asked after a little pause, fearful of the answer you may get.
"Well..." Josh paused. Your heart sank, already feeling like you were going to throw up.
"It was close. He's okay though." Josh rubbed your back in comfort now too, and you guessed he had picked up on what you had felt. "Sorry... I should've worded that differently." "Maybe." You chuckled.
The two of you continued talking for a while. You were glad to have Josh by your side, and you didn't know what you would do without him. He was definitely an amazing husband, and he was going to be an outstanding father.
