Finally Found You (Josh Dun x Reader)

•Chapter 16: Swimming Trip and Jealous Josh•

This month was one of the last months you would be on tour with the boys.

The past months you had spent with them were definitely fun, and you all had a lot of laughs.

Today you were in South Carolina. Josh wanted to take you to the beach since he knew you had never been to the ocean before.

Both of you were on your way to the beach, and you couldn't help but feel excited. The two of you hadn't had tons of time to yourselves, and it didn't seem to both either of you a lot. Every stop you had made during the tour, Josh had insisted on taking you on a date.

You had brought a bag of things with you since you had planned on staying a decent portion of the day. Towels, sunscreen, and the whole nine yards.

Once you and Josh found a spot, you say your bag down and began taking off the clothes you had on over your swimsuit. "Maybe when we get back to the bus we could ask Tyler if.. He..." You had turned around to talk to Josh while taking your shirt off, and saw that he was staring at you. For whatever reason, he didn't seem to notice you had stopped (or started for that matter) talking, or that you had caught him staring.

"Earth to Josh?" You said, and he instantly snapped out of it. Josh seemed to realize that he was staring, and his cheeks turned almost as red as his hair. "I uh.. Um." Josh stuttered, not knowing how to save himself in this situation. "Let's just go swim." Josh sighed with a slight grin, giving up on even trying to redeem himself.

You held hands on the way to the edge of the ocean, and couldn't believe how big the ocean was. "Whoa... This is awesome." Your mouth opened a little at the sight, smiling at the reflections of the sun across the surface. "Well let's go get in it!" Josh said excitedly, leading you into the water.

After you and Josh had been swimming for about an hour, you decided to go to a small pier on the beach for lunch since both of you were hungry.

"Mind if I stop and get something to drink? I've always wanted to try one of the weird color drinks." You asked, pulling your wallet out of your bag. "No I don't mind getting you a drink." Josh said, pulling his wallet out of one of the outside pockets of your bag while looking at you.

"This is a date. Put your money away. You turd." Josh laughed, pulling some money out of his wallet as you guys walked up to a counter of a small tiki bar type place. There was a guy around the age of you and Josh that was working.

"How much do your medium shakes cost?" You asked. "Tell you what, I  can make it a large with no extra charge if I can get your number." The guy said, leaning on the counter a little.

The whole approach itself had you a little flustered. "No I-" "She said a medium. I'll pay for whatever she wants." Josh interrupted you, his voice taking on an oddly firm and serious tone.

The guy didn't say anything, and you began looking at the menu. "Man I don't know what sounds good." You sighed, looking up at the menu.

Josh shuffled behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist as he rested his chin on your shoulder. "Whatever my princess wants. I'll pay for whatever." Josh said, kissing your cheek before he brought his head back up to look at the menu too.

He was acting strange for sure. He never called you any pet names like "honey" or "babe" or even "princess". You had to be honest, you didn't mind it all that much. It was kinda cute. Josh would be Josh though, and you didn't mind if he used any names like that.

This was an odd level of affection though. He was being extremely affectionate. Especially in front of a lot of people... When a guy was taking your order for a drink.

You brushed it off for now though.

A couple minutes later, you settled on a flavor. It was something close to strawberry banana, but it was a different name. Still a colored drink regardless. You ordered and Josh had paid, deciding not to get any for himself.

"Thank you! Come again." The guy said, winking at you.

"Hey, could I try that?" Josh asked. "Sure. Here." You stopped drinking it and handed it out to Josh so he could take it.

However, Josh moved your hands out of the way and grabbed your chin, planting a rough kiss on your lips. He held it out a little longer than what he usually does in public. You were only able to kiss back for a few seconds though, considering the whole thing caught you off guard.

"Mm.. Tastes pretty good." Josh grinned after pulling back from the kiss. "I-I... Um." You stuttered, not knowing at all what to say. He was definitely acting weird.

"Come on. Let's go back." Josh said, grabbing your free hand and locking fingers with you. "I thought we were gonna stay all day?" You asked, definitely confused. "I'm getting kinda tired." He replied. "Josh it's like 1 o'clock." "I want a nap. We can cuuuuddle." Josh bumped up against you playfully. "Fiiine. Nap time it is." You laughed.

You had gotten into Josh's bed, and you were snuggling in the air conditioned bus. Absolutely perfect.

As you were laying there, you thought about The things Josh did today. And then it hit you.

"Oh my god." "What?" Josh sounded concerned, going from half asleep to alert within a split second. "You were totally jealous of the guy at the shake stand." You said as a wave of realization washed over you. ".... Was not." Josh said back smugly after pausing for a couple seconds.

"What if I said being jealous was a liiiittle bit cute?"

"He was totally flirting with you! It was pissing me off. You're mine." Josh ranted, and blushed a little. "You're the cutest dork I've ever had the pleasure of meeting." You chuckled, planting a quick kiss on his lips.

"Okay okay. You big turd. You're a cute turd though. Even though that sounds really weird." Josh laughed, pulling you closer.

"So you admit to being jealous?" You asked, wanting to hear him say it.

"..."

Nothing.

"......."

Still nothing.

"..............."

Okay this is awkward.

"...Yes."
