Finally Found You (Josh Dun x Reader)

•Chapter 5: Feelings•

Slowly, you woke up and opened your eyes. As soon as you did you remembered that you had stayed with Josh after his nightmare incident. It wasn't until now you realized Josh had his arms wrapped around you in almost a hug as his chest was pressed up against your back. His face seemed to be buried in your neck. There was no way you could wake him up. He looked too cute.

Wait. Cute? Your face wrinkled up I  confusion. Did you just mentally call your best friend cute? It's not that you were wrong by any means. It's just... you hadn't thought of him that way before. At all. Pink dusted your cheeks in embarrassment of catching your own thoughts.

"Joooshuuuaaa." You whispered, drawing out some of the sounds in his name. "Joooshuaa William Duuunnnn" You whispered calmly. This caused him to stir a little, but it also made him hug you tighter and bury his face into the curve of your neck even further. You decided to stay there since you might as well enjoy it while it lasts. Right?

After about ten minutes of staying there, Josh finally began to wake up. When he woke up, he realized what he was doing and quickly let go of you. "S-Sorry!" He sat up. "I-It's alright..." You guys just sat there awkwardly. "Um, you want some breakfast?" He shook his head as his stomach grumbled a little.

Both of you got up and made your way into the kitchen. "What do you want?" You looked through the fridge, try to see what all you had. "Um... Do you have the stuff to make pancakes?" He asked. "Yea! That sounds pretty good actually." You got the stuff out and sat it on the counter. "Wanna help?" "Yea!" Josh jumped up out of the seat he was in.

Josh helped you mix everything into the big bowl you had, and he even got to add some cinnamon into it. "That should be good! Now we just have to pour them into the pa-" you were cut off with pancake batter flicked onto your face. Josh instantly had a laughing attack. While he was laughing, you grabbed some of the batter and wiped it on his cheek. "There!" You began laughing now too. In return, Josh put some on your cheek too. "Jesus Josh!" You laughed.

While you were still laughing, Josh walked up to you and ran his tongue up the side of your cheek, getting most of the batter off of it. "You're frickin gross." You chuckled, wiping your cheek off with a towel. "Nope. You're gross." "You're even more gross!" "Nah." He laughed. "Now come on, I'm hungry."

Now that you were finally done with breakfast, you sat with Josh on the couch, watching tv. "Heeeeyyy (Y/N) we should do something this week. It's only Tuesday. Maybe we could go out to dinner Thursday?" He suggested. "Yea! That sounds fun." You  smiled at him. "Sounds good. Sometime around 5 or 6?" He asked, and you nodded.

Josh scooted away from you, and you watched, confused. Then he laid down and rested his head on your lap, looking up at you. "I'm excited." He yawned. "I haven't went out to dinner in a long time." He told you and closed his eyes.

After a while of sitting there and watching tv, you looked down and noticed Josh had fallen asleep. "You big goof." You whispered. You reached out and began playing with his hair without being able to help it. You smiled and looked at his sleeping face, his was opened a little and his breathing was steady. "Shit." You sighed. Over time you hadn't realized you had been harboring a crush for the boy. What you were going to do, you weren't sure of. It was almost definite that he viewed you as a sister.

It wouldn't do any good to say anything about it. The friendship you two had was obviously strong. At this point it'd just be stupid. Josh moved so that he was facing away from you and towards the tv. He was still asleep though. You began rubbing his back, kind of bored. Even though you were kinda bored, you were content. As you  were rubbing his back you began to feel kind of tired. You leaned your head back and ended up falling asleep right there on the couch.

Josh woke up and let out a small yawn. He sat up and stretched a little. His attention was drawn to the tv, which was playing one of his favorite movies. "Hey I never knew you liked this mov-" Josh cut himself off when he looked over at you. You were in a deep sleep on the couch. Josh just shook his head. He didn't feel right just letting you sleep on the couch. The way your neck was just looked flat out uncomfortable.

He carefully picked you up off of the couch bridal style and carried you back into his room. After putting you in his bed, he crawled into bed too. Josh didn't figure cuddling would hurt too much. He couldn't really help it anyways. You were you. And he was great full for the time he got to spend with you. His childhood crush.

Since you guys had started regularly hanging out, Josh had developed a little crush on you that had grown to be something much more immense in emotions. He couldn't help it. The way you talked. The way you carried yourself around people. The way the light reflected off of your eyes. Everything. He enjoyed every moment he got to spend with you.

Josh pulled the comforter over the both of you, and wrapped his arm around your waist to pull you closer. Another nap couldn't hurt. After getting comfortable, Josh fell asleep again, with you pulled to his chest.
