We all hid deep within the woods. We found an old colonial house that was on the other side of the forest so we knew that the Black Knights wouldn’t be able to find us. We were all waiting patiently for Angelina to get in contact with Niall, but we haven’t heard from Angelina for almost two weeks. During the first week, Niall tried getting in contact with her but there was no response.

While we waited, I was trying to get my strength back. I didn’t understand how Angelina was able to get up and about after being dosed with blood of the dead. I barely gained the strength to stand up during the third day of healing. It wasn’t helping that I was feeling whatever Jazlyn was feeling. I could feel her fear, her sadness, and the feeling of being lost. Every muscle and nerve in my body wanted to run over there and hold her, but I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t go back to Hawthorn Academy and risk ruining Angelina’s plan.

I was waiting in the meadow that was near the cottage. The air smelled fresh and filled with mixed fragrances of the wildflowers. The sun warmed my skin and the soft grass tickled my bare feet. The leaves on the trees rustled against the soft breeze and the birds were singing their song.

Sitting down at the distance was Jazlyn, with her back facing me. Every step I made towards her, I couldn’t help but feel overjoyed to see her. Maybe hearing my footsteps approaching, she turned around and smiled at me as she stood up. She was wearing a long white dress with knitted vines of small flowers around her forehead and wrists. I couldn’t help but smile at her beauty and looked in a dress. We ran towards each other and hugged each other tightly. I felt strength entering in me as her arms wrapped around my neck.

I lifted her up and spun around, making her laugh. She ran her fingers through my hair and kissed me. I sunk down on the ground as we kissed. I didn’t realize how much I missed her until our lips were connected once more. She slid off my side and wrapped her arms around me.

Can we just stay like this forever?” she asked me softly.

I kissed her forehead, “Forever and ever, Baby.”

Will you love me till the day I die?”

I chuckled and entwined our fingers together, kissing her hand, “Much longer than that, Jazlyn, much longer than that.”

I turned around and picked a red rose that was near me to give to Jazlyn, but when I turned around, she wasn’t there. All around me, the scenery has changed. Instead of the vibrant soft green grass, it was a sickly light brown and crunchy. The trees were dead and had no leaves, the flowers were no longer there. The sky was dark and gray, the sun was nowhere to be since due to the thick clouds. The wind roared angrily as I frantically looked around the meadow.

I stared down at the rose that I picked up. The rose’s red turned to a dark purple than became black. The petals dried and fell down on my palm, turned to ash, and blew away from the tough winds.

Jazlyn?” I called out. “Jazlyn?” I ran through the meadow, trying to find her. I yelled out her name, begging her to respond to my calls, but she didn’t.

JAZLYN?!”

Harry,” I heard her whisper. I looked ahead and saw Jazlyn’s body lying down on the floor. I ran over to her and knelt down. I turned her over and saw a large bloody stain on her white dress.

I can’t…” she whispered.

I shook my head, “Don’t do this to me. Be strong, you’re going to be alright.” I looked around the meadow. “Someone help! Liam! Angelina! Somebody, help me!”
