It's natural to want a legacy
To leave something behind that you care about
Or make some positive lasting change in the world
For some of us that means having kids
Raising them and teaching them properly
So they can grow to be decent people themselves
But the thought of having kids is scary
You have the life of another human in your hands
You have to worry about how you bring them up
You'll be anxious over every little cut and scrape
You'll learn to second guess yourself in newer ways
It's a nerve wracking experience having kids
So much responsibility in the form of simple bliss
It's one of the most exhilarating things discovered
And while it's amazing, the fear of failing does hover
But the scariest part I think is
Worrying my parents will fuck them up
Just like they did with me.
