Queer people aren't so queer anymore
So I'm taking the word back to mean weird.
But gay people are gayer than ever
So that's bound to stick around forever.
Lesbians are not from Lesbos
Any more than Daenerys is from Pentos,
And transgendered is an umbrella term
That's as useful as getting a perm.
Yet politics still squabble over all of this
As if it were one unstoppable force.
I guess being human just isn't good enough
Anymore.
