Chapter 26

Just when I felt faint, Lucifer asked if I wanted to be shown to my room. Taking this to my advantage I thanked him and was led by Neil down more corridors. By the time we had reached another massive door, resembling the ones of Lucifer’s office, I took a deep breath.

After showing me which door led to the bathroom, Neil left. When I was alone I ran straight towards the large bed paying no attention to all the fancy decoration. My mind was shattering bit by bit, I felt sick to my stomach. I didn’t know what was going on!

Closing my eyes I couldn’t help but go over everything. If each doors held someone captive, forcing them to live the same thing over, and over again. I shook my head, it was just too wrong, it was beyond cruel! I didn’t understand how someone could get away with it!

It was hard to imagine how bad my ‘room’ would be. Just seeing Mary, and Joseph’s room I felt so much heart ache for them! I felt so much pain for every single person here...Yet at the same time; it was so intriguing to watch how their pain grew! And though I didn’t feel it during then, I definitely felt it now. I could feel the sensation in my skin whenever someone else’s fears were around. It felt great!

Maybe, just maybe I could stay after all...

I woke up the next morning surprised that I had even fallen asleep in the first place. I wasn’t sure if were to keep the same dress on, or if Lucifer had kindly given me another set of clothes to wear. Well if anything all I wanted was a toothbrush. So with hopes I walked over to the bathroom, and looked around. The bathroom was pearly clean. Even the toilet and bathtub looked as though they were supposed to be in one of many restrooms of a royal’s house.

Finally inside of one drawer I found three newly packaged toothbrushes, and three tubes of Colgate, plus other things like floss, mouth wash, and feminine objects.

The man was good...Somehow the point he made about waiting for years, just seemed more convincing.

After cleaning up, I couldn’t wait to open the closet and see what was inside. When I hurriedly opened the doors to the closet I glanced upon what should have been the exact same sized area of my old bedroom. But my room did not have ceiling to floor shelves filled with clothes, shoes and jewellery.  I must say I wasn’t a fan of most of the heels or large necklaces, but who cared! There were so many more other shoes, and accessories! If I had to where heels and massive pearls on special occasion to keep this wardrobe, I would happily do so!

My fingers skimmed the hanging dresses, yes more dresses, but there were also so many more jeans, and shirts. Oh and lovely cardigans and jackets! I was so excited that I could scream! Finally after contemplating what to wear, I chose the dark wash flared jeans and a simple peach shirt. I wasn’t trying to impress anyone anyways. Plus I really missed wearing Converse.

“Ms. Lucia,” Neil knocked at the door. “Breakfast is ready.”

I smiled at the thought. Even though I didn’t touch the food last night, I knew it had to be good. So with anticipation, I told Neil I was coming down. My attitude was different today, in a way I was turning a new leaf. And besides the treatment here was so much better than at home!

“Morning Lucia,” Lucifer greeted as he took a sip from his mug.

                “Good morning!” I grinned.

“Ah, I see as though you are feeling better?”

                I nodded.

“How splendid, I’m guessing the trip here had something to do with your gloominess yesterday. Well thank goodness that’s past!”

Laughing I gladly took my breakfast from Neil, and thanked him. Before I turned to my plate I noticed just a small smile from the corner of his lips.

“So, what shall we do today?” He gleamed.

I shrugged, “What do you usually do?”

He scratched his chin for a moment before saying, “I suppose we could look at some new files...unless that sounds dull to you?”

                “Files? Of people?”

He nodded. “I decide whether or not they should be here, but me sending back someone is quite rare. The fun part however, well fun for me at least, if the fact that I get to choose what is in their rooms!”

I smiled at the thought, though a part of me was trying to make my legs run for it, I couldn’t help but think of how entertaining that could be. The thought made me giddy. I felt...powerful.

“Okay, let’s do it!” I cheered.
