Intertwine (Strings of Fate) Chap. 12

Depuis le début

(Jiro's POV)

I was awaken by some bad news in the television. I hurriedly got up and went to the school. I called Yuji's phone but it was out of coverage maybe he turned it off. I search for him in the gymnasium but he wasn't there. Then I went up to the rooftop to see if he was there. I saw him lying on the floor while his hand covering his eyes.

"Yuji, wake up I have something to tell you." He took off his hand and stare at me.

"What is it? So early in the morning."

"He breaks out." His eyes widen when I told him the news ant get up from lying. Suddenly bad memories were hunting us.

"What are you gonna do now. He might be--." He stops me from talking any further.

"Don't speak, I don't want to hear that. And don't tell this to anyone, Jiro." He got up from his feet, patted his jacket, and tacked his hand in his pocket.

"I'm going." He said.

"Where are you going now?" He didn't say a single word as he passed me by and walk away. What are you thinking Yuji? Are going that far too even risk you life? I don't have a choice but keep silent.

The day grew so fast and it is already afternoon but I didn't get any reply from him.

"What is the matter Jiro?" Ayaka asked me unexpectedly.

"Uhm..nothing." We are at the arena right now while preparing for the training.

"You look pale even this morning. What happened to you." I look away to hide my discomfort.

"I said it was nothing. Don't bother."

"Ok." She said plainly. Then suddenly Alexis pop up from behind that I get startled.

"Why are you surprising me?" I asked.

"You are not that easily surprise Jiro, unless you are thinking deeply or worrying about something, you know." She's sharp I didn't know that she will notice.

"Of, course I've notice, Ayaka is worrying about you." Shoot! She can read minds.

"If you are thinking that I can read minds, your wrong I can only see your expression and that is enough evidence of what you are--." I cover her mouth to stop her from talking.

"Shut up! I know I know. So stop talking." I let go of my hand from covering her mouth.

"Then, why are you like that, huh?"

"I don't know if I have to tell you this." I was hesitant at first.

"It was about Takamura, remember the guy?" She looks at me intently.

"Yes, if my memory is correct, he was the guy you fought before for Ayaka, right?" "Yes." "Then what about him?"

"He breaks out of prison not long ago. I just heard this news this morning." "When did he break out?"

"Four days ago." She went silently.

(Alexis' POV)

Could this be? No, it can't be that. This could trouble. If ever Ayaka knew about it, she might get hurt again. I understand what Jiro means. He didn't want to Ayaka know this. Until that guy was found, we can't let her know about this. Hitomi Takamura breaks out of prison. But, suddenly, I recall the mysterious letter last night. The two victims were both senior high schoolers and were hit at their heads, while the last victim was murdered and a letter was left at the crime scene. I get the feeling that all these are connected to each other. What was the killer telling us? As if it was a play, he wants us to remember. Remember? Nevertheless, what is that?

"Alexis! Let's start training!" I heard Ayaka's voice that stops my reminisce. I ride on MadSpeed and we continue our training.

The training ended so late, because we already at the dressage part.

"Ahh! I'm so tired, damn tired! Alexis I didn't know that it was this hard to ride on a horse." She scoffed.

"You'll get used to it. We only have few days to go, so don't get very excited." I smiled at her.

"Alright. I'll be going first, I have something to do." I waved my hand at her as she walk away from us.

"Why didn't you tell her?" I turned around to face him.

"I'm not the one suited for her to tell."

"Right, thanks about that."

"No problem. But do you have a lead of his whereabouts?"

"No. But he will probably revenge at us."

"Is that so? You better take care of yourselves. He might be watching you right now."

"Jeez..that's a problem."

'And warn your friends to be careful' Sensei's warn suddenly ring on my head. Revenge? Wait a minute. Something just came to my mind. I search for the photo of the picture.

"What is that?" Jiro snap the picture from me.

"What is this?" I didn't answer him. I look at the picture carefully.

"You said he will do his revenge."

"Yeah, and what about it?" I took out my pen from my bag.

"I'm right. It doesn't make any sense. There are four lines and we have to find four words from each line. That means the 4/4. If I eliminate the unnecessary words here. And leave four necessary words that can point out what the killer want. I think I know what he wants to tell us from the first place." I underlined the four necessary words from each line that can pin out the message of the letter.

4/4

have the video tape?

I'll look for you

I'll kill your friends

do text with from "I"

No. There is something wrong in the last line. the letter 'I' it could be read as letter 'H'. Without wasting my time, I dialed him on my phone, not long after he answered it.

"Sensei! I know who he is and his next victim." I told him everything I know. I turned to Jiro.

"Ayaka is in big trouble. We have to follow her." He suddenly grabs my hand.

"What are you talking about?"

"I'll tell you but we have to find her. Do you know where she can be found?" We hurriedly run fast to search for her in the school if she was still there. We sight a familiar person in the way.

"Wait up! Hiyoshi-san!" The guy suddenly stops and turned to face us dumbfounded.

"Did you see Ayaka?" Jiro asked.

"She's long gone awhile ago."

"Gee, thanks." Without a word, we leave the guy behind.

"We better call the others." He suggested.

"Ok, I will call them right away. I took my phone out and dialed Meter senpai's number.

"Hello? Meter senpai!" I said between heavy breathings.

"Why are you panting so hard Alexis? Are you in a hurry?"

"Ayaka, Ayaka was in big trouble!" As I did earlier, I told her what happened and so she called the others to help us look for Ayaka.

"Hirasawa, do you know what is going on?"

"I think I know now. If my deduction is right. He must be that person all along."
