Intertwine (Strings of Fate) Chap. 10

"Hey Alexis! I can ride on her without any problems." She said when she sense that I was fast approaching behind her.

"It's a good sign then. But that is also a bad sign."

"Why?"

"Yuji might never catch up with us if he doesn't attend anymore." I turned to look at her but she avoids my gaze and instead her expression became different.

"I know that I don't have the right to interfere with your private life. But this is too much, you are not kids anymore. But if there is a problem you can tell me and I will listen to you." She suddenly pulls the rein to make the horse stops in her tracks.

"Okay, I will tell you." She said as she bowed down her head to hide her emotions.

(Ayaka's POV)

--//Flashback//-- 

We met at the first day of our Junior High at Nigiribashi Junior High School. The first time I saw them they look like a gangsters or more like a hoodlums. Their hairs are practically long, few of their buttons are unbuttons, their shirts are tacked out, they loosen their necktie, folded sleeves and they wear eyeliner. Yes, eyeliner! Most of the guys will probably look horrible if they wear some make-ups but these two look good in eyeliner. It emphasizes their fierce looks and made them manlier. The first day of school, they made some troubles, they fought some senpais inside the school and broke some chairs, tables and windows. Because of that, they are punished to sweep the school grounds for the whole day. I was in charge to look at them for I am the class representative of the class they were in. Every time they are in trouble, I was the one who is in charge to them. And that's the reason why we hang out with each other, we get to know each other and we became friends unexpectedly. That was the worst and happiest days of my life, but others didn't know that they are so kind. They come to the rescue whenever someone bullies me or hurts me. I was so thankful to them. They are always beside me throughout the entire time, until that day comes.  

It's was our last year of Senior High School, when someone, whose name is Hitomi Takamura, a leader of a gang that Yuji and Jiro fought a long time ago. One day, he appeared to me while I was going home from the school. He gave me a video tape. I tried to ask him what is the meaning of that. But he replied to me that I should watch that and he will met me again after that day. At first, I was hesitant to watch it, even though I know that it was just a prank pulled by him. Curiosity come to me as I decided to watched the video tape. In the video, I saw two groups of people, one of them was Takamura's gang and the other one was Yuji's father. The video was a surveillance camera for they do not know that they were being watched. I can't hear what they are saying but I know that they are saying something. Then suddenly Takamura's gang draw their weapons, clubs, pipes and other, then they begin to fight. While Yuji's father was standing behind one of his bodyguards, one of Takamura's subordinate took the chance and went straight to him. With a blink of an eye, a shot was heard and the guy was lying cold in the ground. Then, the gang went crazy because of the gunshot they fled to the scene leaving behind their comrade in a cold death. One of the bodyguard tried to checked if he was still alive, then suddenly the video was cut. I don't know the meaning of this, or why does he have to let me watch this? I decided to keep it mum to everyone, even Yuji himself.

The day after that, he appeared again to me.

"Then what is the meaning of what you did, huh?" I asked him.

"Don't you get it?"

"Get what?" I was losing my temper, what is this guy want?

"To get my revenge to them."

"I knew it! You asshole! You will never get what you want. And more I will tell this to my father." I started to walk away, but he stop my tracks.

"It's not that simple, missy." I turned to him and face him.

"What are you talking about?"

"Let's have a deal, if you are willing to cooperate, I will never harm them." He walk passed by me and tapped my shoulder.

"I will dispose the other video, beside the one you have."

"That's great, I will hand that to my father then."

"You are not getting it, missy. If you hand that to them, they will suspect that Usami's father killed my friend."

"You are lying, how can Yuji's father do that hideous crime?" I was trembling, my knees are shaking and I'm sweating cold for the tension he was creating around us.

"He has a motive to do that, and if it was revealed to the media, he might lose his job. In addition, others will get involved, even, Kagami himself. And not only that, I will kill them myself."

"Y-you c-can't do t-that, aren't you? You are j-just b-bluffing." Even my voice was trembling and I was stammering.

"Even if you hand them the video, they will suspect you also that you are framing them for the time you will hand them the video there will be no evidence of the other video? Even if you told them about these, they will not believe you, not only them who will get involved but also you and your family. You will ruin their lives and their family."

"You are lying!" I shouted back at him.

"Don't worry missy, even if you don't I will kill them myself, so keep your mouth shut if you want your family safe but your friends not or the other way around, chose your friends but sacrifice your family." I heard from him that last words. I was crying that day, I was crying hard for how dumb I was. I shouldn't have receive that video in the first place nor watch that video because of my stupidity. Now, I let him hurt Yuji and Jiro according to his plan. But what is he planning. Even if I ask for help, he will kill them also. I'm so stupid! What should I do? What should I do? I don't know what to do anymore.
