Intertwine (Strings of Fate) Chap.7

"We are here to restore this place." I answered back at him.

"WHAT?!" Jiro shouted back at me.

"Will you please lower down your voice young lad, you're frightening the young lady." The old man exclaimed as he gave us a smile more like a grin.

"Uhm, sorry for his abnormal behavior. The Student Council President, Meter senpai said so." I defended.

"What abnormal behavior are you talking about?" I cover his mouth by going further by my hand.

"Shhh! Shut up." The old man thinks silently as if not convinced for what I said.

"Hmm, is that what she said so? Meter-san also discussed of this matter, so I don't have to worry about. I guess I have to give to you the renovation of this place, well then, goodluck to the both of you. You can start whenever you'd like." The old man said.

"We can start now, ojii-san(old man). Arigatou." The old man takes his leave after he introduced the place and to the things, we need to do.

"So, is this what Meter-nee-chan want us to do?"

"Uhm, apparently yes, for the incoming festival."

"Hmm, what she thinking about this time? Then what are we going to do?"

"First thing first, we have to clean the horse's stable and groom them."

"What? We have to do that now. That's insane!"

"You're quitting right now? It's not even started yet." I provoked.

"I'm not saying anything like that. What I'm saying is we don't have to do that. Let's call the maintenance or the care takers of this place."

"It doesn't have maintenance here and the care taker of this quarter is that old man we met before hand and, he is going to retire after this season. That is why Meter senpai assigned us to take his place until there are available person who can manage this, got that?" I answered as a matter-of-factly.

"Alright, you win. I don't have a choice if Meter-nee-chan said so, didn't I?" He said as if a kind sheep but with an anxious face.

"Then, let's get started." We step inside the quarter to see the situation of the horses and the place. As I expected the health of the horses is well taken care off. As well as their food and the commodity of the place is clean and tidy, even their reservoir of water.

"We don't have to do so much change here, I think it's clean enough."

"Then, what are we gonna do."

"Groom the horses and after that brush them so that they can be comfortable. And we have to install a heater so that they can't be easily sick, because it's getting cold."

"She asks so much, Meter-nee-chan." He mumbles that I clearly heard.  

"Are you familiar with horses? If I may ask?" He inquired.

"Hmm, yes, I sometimes visit to a farm and I studied them."

"Is that so? It must be great"

"Hmm, yes." The first thing we do is to groom the horses one by one in their individual stables. We already done four of them and we have to do six more.

"The old man said that this black Andalusian stallion is the fiercest of them all." I explained. At first glance, he looks nice.

"Hi, how are you?" I said to him. The horse backfires as if I was going to do badly at him. But I continued, I held my hand up to caress his neck, but he started to go crazy.

"Hey, stop doing that, you're gonna get hurt if you still approach him." Jiro pointed.

"Don't worry." I just said. However, the black stallion started to act rudely and he pulled up his upper body as if he wants to stomp at us. With my fast reflexes, I grabbed Jiro to push him down before the horse can stomp on us. With carelessness, the horse jumped on us, forces his way, and even breaks the cage to make his way out. I hurriedly got up on my feet and I rush outside to follow the horse.

"Hey, Hirasawa don't follow him!" Jiro cautioned. However, I can't allow him, it can be a big commotion if it get to the campus. In addition, we are liable to it if we don't take actions before that happens. I run as fast as I can to reach him. Thank goodness that the fences around the stable are high enough for him to jump at. Nevertheless, to my surprise he just easily jumps that high fences and continued to drive his way to the campus. I was breathing heavily when Jiro catch up on me.

"I told you not to follow him." He said between his heavy breathes.

"But it could be chaos if I don't try to stop him, and his getting his way to the campus." I pointed out the stallion running fast.

"What? It is a big trouble. I'll try to call Meter-nee-chan."

"Call her and report the situation. Evacuate the students immediately but don't tell them the situation. And I'll try to catch him before one of the students got attack by him."

"Got that, but hey! don't try to catch him-" Before he finishes his line I hurriedly run fast to follow the tracks of him. Before I know it, I sight him not very far from me but he is fast approaching at the school.

(Jiro's POV)

Damn! I said don't try to catch him. Is she nuts? She can't stop that crazy horse. I better tell this to Meter-nee-chan. I grab my phone in my pants and dialed nee-chan's number.

"Moshimoshi?(Hello?)" Said the voice in the other line.

"Nee-chan it's me." I answered back.

"Jiro, are you done? It's too early."

"It's not like that nee-chan. We got a big problem."

"Tell me about it." She said hurriedly. As long as it concerned to the school, nee-chan is too fast about it.

"One of the horses went crazy and is running straight to the school. Hirasawa is trying to catch him and following him right now."

"What? Taihenda!(It's trouble), why did you let her go away?"

"I tried to stop her, immediately evacuate the students but don't speak off the problem. I'll be on my way to catch up on them." I hung up so I didn't heard what Meter-nee-chan said after that I hurriedly close my phone and put it back to my pants. I loosen up a bit my shirt and rush to catch up with them. What is she thinking? She is crazy. I should've tried to stop her. I can't forgive myself if there is something bad happened to her. Wait, why am I thinking like that? I must be crazy. I should hurry before anything happens, it will be my entirely my fault. But I can't hesitate right now, there will be a lot of casualties if I tried to blame myself. I should be very careful to these things. I should have save her. I must be there before she gets hurt. I must be there. Thump...thump...thump...thump. Then, why is my heart beating so fast and pounding hard, as if I am nervous that something bad might happen to her. Thump...thump...thump...thump. Why I am afraid that I'd lose her? What's the point? Is it my imagination? Or a hallucination? Why am I like this as if I am rushing to catch up to her?
