Chapter 130: The House That Waited

Start from the beginning

And then I’m speaking.
I don’t plan it. The words just spill.

“Hyungs—I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. I just—”

I swallow hard. My voice cracks.

“I didn’t know how to breathe in that moment. I didn’t know what to say. I thought I could fix it by running from it, but—I was wrong. I was so wrong.”

Namjoon hyung steps forward.

And in that quiet, he just reaches out, hand settling on the back of my neck. Warm. Steady. No words.

Only that one, unshakeable truth:
We’re still here.

Yoongi hyung steps in. His brows are pulled tight, eyes rimmed red. He doesn’t say much either.

Just grabs the back of my hoodie.
Presses his forehead against mine.

“You’re an idiot,” he mutters.

But it’s the gentlest thing I’ve ever heard.

Taehyung hyung crashes into me next. Arms tight. Face buried in my shoulder.

“We were losing it, you know? I almost started a manhunt. Do you have any idea—”

“I know,” I croak. “I know.”

Jimin hyung sidles in quietly, ducking his head like he’s not sure if it’s real. His fingers hook into mine for a second.

“You look like shit,” he mumbles.

“I feel like it.”

But I smile. Because it’s him. And that’s all I need.

And then—Hobi hyung.

He doesn’t rush anymore.
Just walks up with that gentle, anchored calm that’s always lived in his bones.

That soft smile he’s had since we were kids.

He stops in front of me. Eyes shining.
He rests a hand on my chest.

One line.
“Welcome home.”

And that’s it.
That’s the moment.

My knees give out. My body folds.
The sob tears through me like something primal. Something buried too long.

They catch me.
All of them.

Yoongi hyung’s arms around my shoulders.

Taehyung hyung clinging to my side, tears smearing into my hoodie.

Joon hyung’s steady weight against my back.

Jimin hyung kneeling in front of me, brushing my hair out of my face with a trembling smile.

Hobi hyung pulling me in like a lifeline.

Even Jin hyung.
He kneels, cups my cheek, and wipes a tear with the side of his thumb.

“God, you’re crying like you just got out of military service.”

I let out a laugh-sob that rattles through me. “I think I did.”

We collapse into each other.

A mess of arms and hearts and the kind of silence that feels like home rebuilding itself around you.

Taehyung hyung’s still half-laughing, half-sobbing.

Yoongi hyung mutters something like “never do that again or I’ll throttle you.”

Jimin hyung says, “You reek.”

Jin hyung nods seriously. “Like rainwater, unresolved trauma, and gas station banana milk.”
