It's been a week since the latest features of the Purple Hope Project went live-specifically, the Regular Advocacy feature, User Poll Notifications.
Today, our team gathered in the boardroom to debrief and celebrate our collective success.
I glance at Yoongi, who's sitting beside me, his long fingers tapping rhythmically against his coffee cup.
The boardroom is buzzing with excitement as our colleagues begin trickling in, and I can't help but smile.
I'm so proud of what we've accomplished, and more than that, proud of the people I work with.
Yoongi nudges me with his shoulder, and I look over to find him offering me that subtle smile of his-reserved, but warm.
"You good?" he asks, his voice soft as ever, but I can hear the excitement in it.
"Yeah, just a little nervous," I admit, brushing a stray strand of hair behind my ear. "It's a big day. The updates are doing well, but you never know until the numbers are in."
He shrugs, his eyes gleaming with quiet confidence. "You've got this. I'm feeling positive and you know my gut feel and predictions are always accurate"
I chuckle at him, it's true he's like a Korean nostradamus, he has this predictions that always seem to be on point.
The team begins to settle, and the room is soon filled with the hum of low conversation.
Mr. Lee takes his place at the head of the table, his usually stern face breaking into a rare, proud smile.
I feel the weight of everyone's eyes on me, and though I try to look cool, I can't help the flutter in my chest.
This is my baby, this project, and seeing it come to fruition like this-it's everything.
"Alright, everyone," Mr. Lee says, his voice booming through the room. "Let's get started. First of all, I want to congratulate everyone for the successful launch of the latest updates. These features-especially the advocacy updates and the poll notifications-are already having a major impact. Ha Eun, Trina-let's hear the numbers."
Ha Eun stands first. I can see the pride in her eyes as she adjusts her glasses and begins clicking through her slides. Beside her, Trina shifts through her notes.
"The Regular Advocacy Updates have seen an incredible engagement rate. Over 80% of our active users have interacted with the notifications, whether it's clicking through to read more or participating in the polls," Ha Eun announces, her voice clear and confident.
Trina chimes in, adding to the statistics. "And the Polls and Discussions section? It's exceeded our expectations. Participation in discussions has risen by 60% since the feature launched. The users are genuinely engaging with each other, and the results of the polls are sparking thoughtful debates on social justice issues."
The room erupts in applause. It's contagious, and I can't help but join in.
Ha Eun and Trina have been working tirelessly to drive the campaign forward, and it shows.
Mr. Lee nods approvingly. "Great work, everyone. The user feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. We've seen a significant uptick in our reviews, and people are raving about the educational resources, in-app donations, and the reward systems for allyship."
I beam, feeling a rush of pride.
This was all a labor of love, and it's paying off. But it's not just the app's success that has me buzzing-it's the purpose behind the work.
Making a difference, even in small ways, is something that feels real. Something that matters.
And it's hard not to get emotional when you hear that people are truly engaging with it, making a difference in their own lives and the lives of others.
