The quiet hum of the office was almost soothing, the kind of peaceful silence you could only find on a weekend when the world seemed to slow down just a little.

Here I was, standing at the threshold of his office, heart racing in my chest, trying not to let the nerves flood me like a tidal wave.

I hadn't expected the storm of emotions that this whole soulmate thing would bring.

He motioned to the couch across from his desk. "Take a seat. I'm all ears."

I lowered myself onto the couch, crossing my legs and fiddling with my hands.

The room felt too quiet, like the moment was heavy with anticipation.

Suga stayed standing for a moment, as if giving me space to find my words.

After what felt like an eternity, he leaned against his desk, crossing his arms over his chest.

His gaze was steady but soft-patient, like he was willing to wait for me to figure out how to say whatever was weighing me down.

"I've been thinking about the LoveMap app," I started, staring down at my lap, not quite ready to meet his eyes.

I could already feel the weight of the conversation sinking in, but I couldn't back out now. "A lot. And the whole soulmate thing. I just... I don't know if I can trust it. Or maybe... I'm not sure if I trust me enough to let it decide who I'm supposed to be with."

Suga's expression remained neutral, but there was a slight crease in his brow.

He unfolded his arms and pushed himself off the desk, taking a seat across from me, his gaze never leaving mine.

"I get what you mean," he said, his voice quiet but steady.

"It's a lot to take in, especially when it feels like something so... out of our control, right? But I'm not sure it's about the algorithm making the decisions for us. It's more about us deciding how we want to handle it."

I could feel the heat rise to my face. His words made sense, but my doubts still clung to me like a shadow.

"But that's just it. The app tells us who our soulmate is. It's not like we get a say in it. It's this... machine-driven thing that takes the human element out of it. I would know, I mean I helped create it, it's codes and data, highest probability matches, it's not magic. It's science. What if it's not real? What if it's just some... well, just some science experiment?"

His lips twitched upward at the corners. I caught the glint of a smile trying to break through his usually calm demeanor.

"I don't know about you, but I'd hardly call this a science experiment." He paused, his eyes never leaving mine, and there was a softness there that made my heart skip a beat.

"I think it's real, Y/N. And I think what you're feeling-what I'm feeling-is real too. Soulmates don't just appear out of thin air, right? They're built, step by step, just like everything else."

I felt my chest tighten at the vulnerability in his voice. He wasn't just talking about the app anymore. He was talking about us.

"Is it... really worth it, though?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

"I've been thinking a lot about everything" my voice trembling slightly despite my best efforts. "And I think I need to stop pretending like I'm not... terrified. I've been avoiding the truth, not just about the app or the soulmate connection, but about you."
