The dining table was quiet—too quiet.

The only sounds were the clinking of utensils against plates and the occasional rustling of fabric whenever someone shifted in their seat

The only sounds were the clinking of utensils against plates and the occasional rustling of fabric whenever someone shifted in their seat.

Yoongi had made lunch—some kind of rich, savory stew, tender meat falling apart at the touch of a spoon.

It smelled incredible, tasted even better, but no one seemed to be paying attention to their food.

Instead, three pairs of eyes—mine, Oppa’s, and Taehyung’s—kept flickering between Yoongi and Namjoon, who sat across from each other, barely eating, barely speaking.

And yet, the tension between them was palpable.

It clung to the air, thick and suffocating, like the static before a thunderstorm.

Neither of them was looking at the other, but their bodies were taut, muscles coiled, their expressions strained like they were barely holding something back.

Jin oppa, sitting beside me, leaned in and whispered,

"Yah, Cub, what did you do?"

He jabbed Taehyung with his elbow, his voice hushed but urgent.

Tae frowned, rubbing his side.

"What? I didn’t do anything. They were already like this when I came in."

Oppa gestured vaguely at them with his spoon. “Then why…do they look like that”

He paused, squinting.

“They look like two dogs circling each other, but instead of fighting, they look like they want to—”

“Shh!” I slapped a hand over his mouth, eyes darting to Joon and Yoongi.

Thankfully, they were too busy stabbing at their food to notice us.

Tae sighed dramatically, resting his chin in his palm.

“I don’t know, but it’s weird. They’re definitely mad about something.”

I tilted my head, studying them more closely.

Yoongi’s grip on his chopsticks was tight, his knuckles pale. His jaw was clenched, shoulders stiff, and every movement he made was tense, like he was forcibly restraining himself from something.

Namjoon wasn’t much better—he kept shifting, rolling his shoulders every few seconds like he was trying to shake off some invisible weight.

His fingers kept flexing, tightening, then loosening against the edge of the table.

"But why?" Jin oppa whispered.

"They don’t look like they fought. No one’s glaring."

"Yeah, but look at them," Tae added, lowering his voice.
