Even Tannie stilled on the couch, ears twitching, eyes trained on me like he knew.
I walked over slowly.
Every step deliberate. Heavy.
Like I was wading through something thicker than gravity.
Hobi hyung shifted beside the table, instinctively moving-but he didn't stop me.
No one did.
Not yet.
Y/N noona turned to me. Eyes soft. Voice about to say my name.
"Koo-"
*BAM!*
My fist hit Gabriel's face like the universe snapped.
Bone and cartilage and the sharp pop of contact.
He stumbled back, crashing into the edge of the studio table.
Papers scattered.
A chair tipped and hit the wall.
Bam barked loud and sharp.
Wacha bolted from under the bench.
Tannie whined like he was watching a house fall.
Blood dripped from Gabriel's nose.
Bright. Instant.
He blinked, dazed. "What the-?"
Y/N gasped, stepping between us before I could move again.
"Jungkook!"
Her voice cracked like it hurt her to say my name like that.
It hurt me too.
Gabriel looked from me to her, hand pressed to his face, mouth slightly open like he was still waiting for an explanation he wasn't owed.
"I-what just happened?"
Everything felt too loud and too quiet at once.
Hobi moved first, grabbing my shoulders, pulling me back hard.
"Kookie, what the hell?! That's not you. That's not us."
Jin hyung set his mug down so hard on the shelf behind him it splashed over.
"What the hell just happened?!"
Jimin hyung didn't even look at him.
"What didn't?"
Yoongi hyung's voice sliced through.
Cold. Clear.
"Jungkook. Stand down."
I could barely hear him.
Everything was pulsing.
My fists shook. My chest heaved.
But I couldn't look away from her.
Taehyung hyung stepped forward, his voice dropped low. Even. Dangerous.
"Honestly? If Kook didn't, I might've."
Namjoon hyung surged forward. His tone-uncharacteristically sharp.
"No. That's not okay. You hit someone in our house."
His voice dropped. "Look at her, Kook. This isn't who we are."
Yoongi hyung blocked him, palm flat to Joon hyung's chest.
"Joon. Not now. Not Like this."
Joon hyung stared him down, jaw flexed.
"He crossed a line."
Yoongi hyung didn't blink.
"We all just did."
Jimin hyung lifted his hand like a ref calling a foul.
"Okay. Okay. Timeout. Someone better say something before I do."
The silence burned.
Jin hyung stepped toward Y/N noona, placing both hands on her arms, guiding her gently backward. His voice, soft.
"You okay, Aein?"
Her eyes were wide.
Hands trembling.
She didn't answer.
Just nodded. Once.
Her eyes never left mine.
I couldn't speak.
Not through the heaving in my chest, the tightness in my throat.
My knuckles were still red-blood that wasn't mine crusting around the creases.
Gabriel looked up from his crouch near the table, blood dripping from his lip.
He wiped it with his sleeve, dazed and now humiliated, voice shaky.
"I didn't mean anything," he said, blinking at me. "I was just-"
"Too close."
My voice came out low, rough. Something primal. It came out of me before I could stop it.
Low. Sharp.
The only truth I had left.
"You don't get to touch her like that."
I wasn't yelling.
Didn't need to.
Everyone felt the weight of those words.
Yoongi hyung's phone buzzed in the background.
He stepped back, checked it with one hand, still holding his mug like it might crack too.
He read for a long time.
Eyes narrowing.
Then his voice-flat, steady, dangerous.
"New profile update."
The whole room turned toward him.
"What?" Hobi hyung asked.
Yoongi hyung looked up.
Something distant in his expression.
"Small changes. Nothing loud. But the pattern matches."
He held up the phone, showed the message.
Si Woo
Not enough for alarm. But it's the same thread.
Yoongi hyung turned toward the window, the light slashing across his face like a cut.
"They're still out there," he whispered.
No one said a word.
"And now... we're distracted."
The silence that followed didn't break-it fractured.
Splintered into every corner of the house like glass shattering in slow motion.
No one moved.
Gabriel clutched his ribs, red pooling beneath his hand.
Y/N noona stared at the floor, lips parted, breathing uneven.
Tae hyung still. Watching.
My fist still shaking.
Hobi hyung's hands warm on my back, grounding me even now.
Joon hyung simmering, arms crossed tight.
Jimin hyung sitting on the armrest, watching everyone like a detective mid-trial.
Jin hyung didn't speak, but his hand stayed steady on noona's shoulder.
Yoongi hyung...gone somewhere in his head.
All of us still echoing with the knowledge that something just cracked wider.
This wasn't about Gabriel anymore.
This wasn't about the breach.
This was about all of it.
Everything fraying at once.
The room held its breath.
And no one moved.
Not yet.
