Then he lowers himself onto the bed, cross-legged beside Jimin's feet, back leaning against the headboard like he's done this a hundred times.
Like this is exactly where he's meant to be.
"I just got off the phone with Joon," he says, rubbing his palm slowly against his knee.
"Gab's not staying here. He booked a hotel. They're on their way there to drop off his things before coming here."
The words drop like smooth stones into a still lake.
Gab's staying at a hotel.
Not here. Not under this roof.
Relief blooms in my chest like warmth at sunrise-gradual, spreading.
Not joy, not yet. But safety.
"See?" I say quietly, patting the spot between Kook's shoulder blades.
"No ship sinking."

Kook lets out a muffled grunt, face half-buried in the pillow. His shoulders relax just a little.
Jimin reaches for Yoongi hyung's hand, and without missing a beat, Yoongi hyung laces their fingers together.
"I know it's hard," he murmurs, voice like soft thunderclouds.
"Seeing someone that close to her. That part of her story. We all feel it."
He looks right at me and Kook, and there's something ancient and unshakable in his gaze.
"But she chose this. Us. And she chooses us every day."
His hand shifts, reaching to lay flat on Kook's blanket-covered knee.
"And Gab?" he adds with a small smile.
"He's just another satellite. She's the sun. We're her galaxy."
Kook lets out a long, shaky exhale.
I feel it ripple through his spine.
Jimin sighs into Yoongi hyung's waist.
"That was really poetic, hyung."
Yoongi hyung shrugs, but I catch the corner of his mouth twitch.
"Been hanging out with Namjoon too much," he mutters.
I laugh softly, forehead pressed to Kook's hair. "You're turning into the broody bard of the house."
"I'll take it," Yoongi hyung says, leaning his head back against the headboard.
"As long as it helps you three get through today."
It does.
It really, really does.
We stay like that for a moment-quiet, huddled in the eye of the storm that's coming.
And in Yoongi hyung's steadiness, Jimin's warmth, Kookie's pulse beneath my hand-
I remember,
We're not alone.
We never were.
