Chapter 113: Motion, Emotion, Devotion

Start from the beginning

I shift - just slightly - one hand bracing on the floor beside Tae's knee. My pinky brushes his leg. He doesn't move.

He turns his head. Just a little.

Just enough.

Our noses almost brush.

The monitors flicker softly. My breath ghosts over his lips. He doesn't blink. His pupils dilate.

There's a heartbeat of silence.

Another. I couldnt take it any longer.

"You gonna kiss me," I whisper, voice low and daring, "or just keep breathing my air?"

"You gonna kiss me," I whisper, voice low and daring, "or just keep breathing my air?"

Taehyung stills completely.

And then he moves.

His hand grabs the side of my neck, firm and urgent, and his mouth crashes into mine.

It's not soft. It's not sweet.

It's wild.

His lips are hot and shaky against mine - like he's surprised by how badly he needs this. My fingers find his hair, sinking deep, pulling him closer, anchoring us both.

He groans - a low, wrecked sound - and I swear it rips through my spine.

His other hand slides around my waist, gripping tight like I might vanish if he doesn't hold on.

We kiss like the dam's broken.
Like every near-miss and every look-too-long finally exploded into this one beautiful, uncontainable moment.

Our bodies twist toward each other, knees colliding, hands scrambling for more.

I end up in his lap, thighs bracketing his hips. His hands splay across my back, one dragging up under my sweatshirt, warm and grounding.

I kiss him harder.

Because I've wanted this for so long I forgot what patience felt like.

Because Taehyung tastes like cinnamon tea and unsaid things.

Because when I breathe against his lips, I don't feel nervous. I feel home.

We finally pull back - gasping, lips swollen, eyes wild.

Our foreheads press together, breaths shaky.

I can feel his smile before I see it.

"That was... intense," I say, voice wrecked and glowing.

Tae's grinning, eyes half-lidded, stunned and radiant. "I've wanted to do that since you winked at me during that first concept meeting."

I choke out a laugh. "You mean the wink that made you knock over your tea?"

"That was an accident!"

"You're in denial."

He grins wider. "You're infuriating."
