Chapter 105: Seven Idiots and a Star

Jin hyung's voice - God, Jin's voice - wrapping around me like a shield.

"You're safe."

I stare up at the ceiling now, letting the sunlight slip over me, and the air shudders out of my lungs in one huge, cracked breath.

It feels like all the loneliness I didn't know I was still carrying is finally starting to melt.

Like maybe - just maybe - I've found something that won't break when I reach for it.

I let my eyes slip closed again, smiling a little.

Small. Private. Like a secret I'm keeping just between me and the sunrise.

"They're mine," a voice in my chest whispers.

"I'm theirs."

It's terrifying.
It's beautiful.
It's real.

And I want it.
God, I want it so bad it hurts.

The soft knock on my door pulls me out of my thoughts.

I groan, dragging myself out of the cocoon of my comforter, raking a hand through my mess of blonde hair.

Definitely need to wash it.
I look like a baby chicken.

I crack open the door to find Lee Hyun, my manager-slash-reluctant babysitter, holding two coffees and a folder stuffed with papers.

"Morning, rockstar," he says, giving me a once-over.

His eyebrows lift. "You look like you got hit by a joy truck."

"I feel like it too," I croak, voice still wrecked from sleep and-let's be honest-feelings.

He chuckles and steps inside, immediately heading toward my tiny dining table.

"Come on, sleeping beauty. Big day. Brand meetings. Collab updates. Plus, your fans are foaming at the mouth over that teaser clip you posted last week."

I shuffle behind him like a zombie, taking the coffee he hands me and cradling it like a newborn.

"Bless you," I whisper.

"Yeah, yeah. Worship me later. Sit."

I drop onto a chair, mug cradled against my chest, and watch as Hyun pulls out his tablet, tapping through the week's schedule.

"So," he says, flicking his gaze up at me with that subtle smirk he gets when he knows something's up.

"You meet with Kim Taehyung yet?"

I blink at him over the rim of my mug.
Swallow.
Force casual.

"Uh. Yeah. Last night."

He arches an eyebrow. "And?"

I shrug, trying not to combust.

"It went... really well."

Hyun hums, unconvinced but amused.

"That so? You always look this ready to ascend into heaven after a good meeting?"

I glare at him weakly.

He chuckles, flipping through his tablet.

"Well, good. Because his team's already greenlit Phase One. VR choreo integrated with his visual platform. You and Taehyung are co-leads for launch."

My heart stutters painfully - excitement, pride, terror - all tangled up together.

"That's amazing," I breathe.
