Chapter 104: The Eight Heartbeat

Start from the beginning

“I did,” Jin oppa groaned, dragging his hands down his face.

“I kissed someone at Jia’s after-party. And not just anyone—”

“WHO?” Tae shrieked, standing like he was about to enter combat.

Jin oppa inhaled. Slowly.

Then, “Who else, but Park Jimin.”

Absolute.
Silence.

Tae blinked. Once.
Then again.

“I FUCKING KNEW IT!” he screamed, launching a throw pillow into the air.

“I KNEW HE WAS ONE OF US. I KNEW IT. I TOLD YOU GUYS!”

“You met him!? And... You kissed him already?” Yoongi whispered, eyes wide for once.

“He kissed me first!” oppa protested.

“Technically. But then I also kissed him. Twice.”

“Tell us everything.” I launched off the couch and grabbed Jin oppa’s hand like it held the secrets of the universe.

“Was it intense?” Kook asked, cheeks flushed.

“Was there tongue?” Hobi gasped.

“Did you feel the pull?” Joon said softly, voice serious.

Jin oppa closed his eyes.
And then—he smiled.
A slow, disbelieving, wrecked smile.

“Guys,” he said quietly. “It felt like I’d been waiting for him forever.”

Tae flung himself dramatically into Joon’s lap, fake-crying.

“Our final piece! He’s here and he’s hot and Jin hyung already made out with him and I didn’t even get to wave! Life is so unfair!”

Yoongi was shaking his head, half in awe, half in disbelief. “He’s going to feel the pull from all of us.”

And Hobi—sweet, sunshine Hobi—reached over and squeezed Jin oppa’s arm, eyes glowing.

“You kissed him. That means he’s real. And close.”

—Present—

We are full throttle, final boss level preparing.

Joon is fluffing couch pillows like they owe him child support.

Yoongi and Jin are tag-teaming the kitchen, arguing over plating like it’s a war crime to use parsley on sweet dishes.

Tae is bouncing—still bouncing—because “If I sit down, I’ll combust. Also, the lighting in the studio is currently perfect and I need him to see it that way.”

Meanwhile, Jungkook and Hobi are helping me lay out snacks in the living room even though they’ve already eaten half of them.

“I’m just taste-testing,” Kook says with a mouthful of almonds.

“Sure, baby,” I grin. “And what’s your excuse for the three missing eclairs?”

“They were depressed. I set them free,” he mutters.

Yeontan trots by with one of the guest slippers in his mouth.

Wacha yowls at him like an angry aunt and then jumps onto the bookshelf like she’s summoning the gods.

Then we all stop when Tae suddenly claps his hands.

“Oh! Hyun messaged me!”

We all freeze.
