Chapter 98: A House Built in Love

Start from the beginning

Jungkook didn't reply-but he didn't pull away either.

As the sun started to dip lower, the light casting long golden shadows, we all ended up back on the deck, piled on cushions and loungers.

Wacha was curled into Jungkook's lap. Yeontan stretched across Tae's chest. Hobi was nestled between Joon and Jin, all of us tangled together like warmth.

"So," I said, voice soft my back leaning at Yoongi's warmth, "that was the first floor."

Jungkook looked around, eyes shining.

"It's..." he paused. "More than I expected."

"It's waiting for you," Jin oppa said.

"You're not guests," Joon added. "Just delayed arrivals."

We fell quiet for a second, the air humming with something heavier, sweeter.

Then Hobi stretched. "Alright. You've impressed me. What's upstairs?"

I smiled.

"Glad you asked."

The sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling glass as another moving truck pulled up outside.

The front doors were propped open, movers carting in yet another set of boxes labeled "fragile - studio monitors" and "Tannie's Toys - Handle With Love."

I shook my head fondly and pressed the intercom by the hallway.

"Tannie's throne room is almost complete,"

I announced, smirking.

"Yeontan doesn't need a throne, he is the throne," Taehyung's voice floated in from the other side of the house, all languid elegance and amused confidence.

"I don't know, he fought Wacha for the window perch again," Yoongi added, strolling past with a mug of coffee he didn't remember making.

Wacha was curled on his shoulder like a smug little scarf, tail flicking as if she understood the conversation.

Taehyung poked his head in from his hallway. "Wacha started it," he said, mock-pouting.

"She finished it too," Jin oppa called from behind a moving dolly, huffing as he and Jungkook helped push an oversized leather reading chair.

"I saw her glare at Tannie and he backed up like she's the IRS."

Laughter echoed around the wooden floors as we regrouped by the wide staircase, the high ceiling making everything feel cathedral-like.

Wood beams stretched across the ceiling in soft walnut, and the palette-creamy whites, ash gray, warm blacks-bounced light just right.

The kind of place that looked expensive but felt like home.

Jungkook looked up the stairwell, wide-eyed. "This place has layers. It's like a croissant of luxury."

"I love when he gets poetic," Joon said with a proud grin, hand ruffling Jungkook's hair in passing as they both followed me deeper in.

"Okay, onward!" I said, leading the pack toward the first hallway to the left.

"Next up, Tae's kingdom."

The door opened into a space that could only be described as modern Versailles.
