"I already have two soulmates who distract me from sleep," I whispered back.
He grinned, brushing his nose against my cheek. "Then maybe I'll just add dreams."
I turned to look at him fully-and there it was again. That thing in his eyes.
Like I was something sacred.
I still wasn't used to it.
But I loved it.
Tae arrived next with Yeontan perched on one arm like royalty.
"He insists on sleeping beside me," he announced to the room. "Don't even think about seducing him with treats, he's loyal."
Wacha, unimpressed, yawned in my arms.
"I'll bribe him with tuna later," I whispered to her. She blinked slowly, as if unimpressed with the drama.
"Children, behave," Joon called from the hallway, carrying a tray of drinks and wearing his effortlessly-hot-professor cardigan.
Jungkook's eyes immediately snapped to him.
And stayed there.
It was so obvious.
Every time Namjoon lifted a glass, adjusted his sleeves, or even breathed with too much intellect, Jungkook watched him like he was watching a live stream of his favorite game.
The kind of adoration that had no chill.
Namjoon noticed, of course.
He always did.
And he played into it.
"Jungkook," he said casually as he handed him a drink,
"you did really well at that last competition. Your tracking speed was insane."
Jungkook's ears turned red in real-time.
"Thanks, hyung. I... I've been practicing reactions a lot more. Trying to improve angle intuition and-uh-"
"You don't need to explain." Namjoon smiled softly. "I'm already impressed."
The look Jungkook gave him after that should have been illegal.
Meanwhile, Hobi and Yoongi were not even pretending to be subtle anymore.
"Oh, you brought a vintage record player?" Hobi asked, strolling toward the corner, fingers trailing over the sleek wood.
"I love jazz."
Yoongi didn't even glance up from his phone. "I am jazz."
And then-like it was an afterthought-he reached out and pulled Hobi's hoodie back up over his shoulder.
Didn't say a word.
Just did it.
Hobi's grin could've powered the entire city.
Dinner was a chaotic blend of gourmet sushi, fusion tapas, hand-shaken cocktails, Oppa insisted on bartending and added edible glitter to everything, and occasional snack thefts by Jungkook who kept trying to sneak things onto Tae's plate.
"You know Tae's about to be even richer than you guys soon, right?"
I said as I stole a piece of sashimi from Tae's plate and popped it into my mouth.
"Oh, absolutely. Trial's done. I'm getting everything my parents left for me. Seojun hyung said that the transfers should finish by next month,"
Tae said with a little victorious head tilt.
"You're going to be absolutely unbearable," Yoongi deadpanned.
"I already am unbearable," Tae grinned, feeding Yeontan a piece of tuna under the table.
