Chapter 96: Where We Are Meant to Be

Start from the beginning

Kook clutches his heart dramatically.

"I can't believe we're in the presence of the Kim Namjoon."

I lean in, whispering, "Do you think he has a secret underground lair?"

Yoongi hyung rolls his eyes. "If Joon had a lair, he'd trip over the entrance every morning."

Joonie playfully glares at him, but before he can defend himself, Kook squints suspiciously.

"Wait a minute. Jin hyung, you're a top notch lawyer and filthy rich, Joon-hyung is out here saving the world, Yoongi-hyung and Noona literally created the soulmate app-"

He pauses, looking around the table as the realization dawns.

"Is everyone here secretly a Marvel superhero?" he whispers as they all laugh at him

"Is everyone here secretly a Marvel superhero?" he whispers as they all laugh at him.

But to be honest, I can't help but agree with his question.

"Wait, wait," Woo Shik said.

"Is this the point where we find out Seojun moonlights as a pop idol?"

"Don't drag me into this," Seojun grumbled, but he was grinning.

"Too late," Hyung Sik laughed.

"You're already in the credits."

The night blurred into something golden-glasses clinking, laughter weaving between us like music, hands reaching across the table to pass plates and touch fingertips, as if to remind each other-we're here. We're real.

Tae curled against Kook at one point, whispering something that had Kook's ears turning a deep, traitorous pink.

Tae just grinned, utterly pleased with himself.

Yoongi hyung and I had our foreheads leaned together for just a second too long-breath shared, space narrowed-until Jisoo wolf-whistled, and the moment shattered like glass dropped on marble.

I pulled away, red-faced. Yoongi hyung only smirked, like he knew something I didn't.

Like maybe I was already his before I even realized it.

Y/N noona traced slow circles over my knuckles under the table, grounding me without words.

And Jin hyung?

Jin hyung kept sneaking glances at Joon when he thought no one was watching.

And Joonie? He was always watching back.

It was messy.
It was magic.
It was everything.

Somewhere between the stolen looks and the teasing laughter, between the soft whispers and the warmth curling in my chest, I realized-This wasn't a detour.

This wasn't a temporary stop on a road paved with what-ifs.

This was the beginning.

The first step toward the life we were always meant to have.
