Chapter 96: Where We Are Meant to Be

Start from the beginning

Jungkook (Group Chat)
I take offense to that.

Y/N (Group Chat)
I don't. It's accurate.

Hobi (Group Chat)
Rofl 🤣 My baby's just hungry, leave him alone.

Jin (Group Chat)
I'd leave work if it meant smacking Kook in the head.

Taehyung (Group Chat)
Hyung, violence isn't the answer.

Jin (Group Chat)
You threw a shoe at me last week.

Taehyung (Group Chat)
That's different. That was love.

Jungkook (Group Chat)
Noona, I still need snacks.

Y/N (Group Chat)
I have a pack of almonds. I can give it to you later tonight before dinner.

Jungkook (Group Chat)
I hate almonds.

Yoongi (Group Chat)
...Then starve.

Jungkook (Group Chat)
Wow. Heartless.

Namjoon (Group Chat)
Babe, just give him the almonds before he whines forever.

Y/N (Group Chat)
Whose side are you on?!

Namjoon (Group Chat)
Love and peace.

Jungkook (Group Chat)
Namjoon-hyung is the best.

Yoongi (Group Chat)
I am blocking all of you.

Taehyung (Group Chat)
You say that every day, and yet here you are, grandpa 🧓

Jin (Group Chat)
Exactly.

Hobi (Group Chat)
You are so cute, Yoongi hyung 🙀

Jungkook (Group Chat)
Yeah cute, as in tiny. 🐱

Yoongi (Group Chat)
...I hate all of you.

________

Friday

Yoongi's apartment is warm when we arrive, the scent of something rich and buttery filling the space.

"Hyung," Jungkook sighs as he steps inside. "Marry me."

Yoongi barely glances up from the stove. "Eat your food first."

Hobi cackles, throwing himself onto the couch. "That's not a no."

Jin oppa smirks over his wine glass. "I'd pay to see Jungkook attempt to woo Yoongi."

Jungkook pouts. "Would you let me, hyung?"

Yoongi levels him with a deadpan look. "What's in it for me?"

Jungkook blinks. "Uh. Free gaming advice?"

"Pass."

________

Saturday

The cafe is quiet, tucked away from the world.

Namjoon is deep in conversation with Hobi, hands moving animatedly.

"You're so hot when you're passionate," Hobi murmurs.

Joon smirks. "I'm always passionate."

Yoongi snorts.

Tae nudges me. "Noona, look."

I turn-just in time to see Jungkook lift a strawberry tart to Yoongi's lips.

Yoongi stares at him.
Jungkook stares back.

Then, without breaking eye contact, Yoongi takes a bite.

Hobi gasps. "Yoongi-hyung lets him feed him?!"

Jin oppa narrows his eyes. "I had to fight for that privilege."

Jungkook smirks. "What can I say? He loves me."

Yoongi rolls his eyes but doesn't deny it.

Tae giggles. "Noona, you're next."

Jungkook lifts another piece, holding it out to me.

I lean in, lips brushing his fingers as I take a bite.

Jungkook freezes.
His ears turn pink.

Taehyung claps. "You're doomed, Kook."

Jin oppa smirks. "Oh, he's so doomed."

________

Sunday Night

Oppa's penthouse is dimly lit, the warm glow of city lights filtering through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The living room is a mess of limbs, blankets, and half-empty glasses of wine.

Jungkook is sprawled across my lap, playing absently with my fingers, tracing circles against my palm like he's memorizing the shape of me.

Hobi is curled against Yoongi, their bodies melting into each other, Yoongi's fingers running through soft brown locks, a rare, lazy smile on his lips.

Tae is tucked between Namjoon and Jin oppa, his head resting on Joon's shoulder, one arm thrown over Oppa's waist.

Jin oppa sighs dramatically, his voice thick with sleep. "I never thought my life would be a tangle of limbs and love confessions."

Joon smirks, pressing a kiss to Tae's temple. "And yet, here we are."

Yoongi chuckles, low and deep.
"Better than you expected?"

Oppa hums, his fingers ghosting over Tae's back in slow, absentminded strokes.

"Much better."

The movie plays in the background, but none of us are really watching.

Jungkook tilts his head up at me, his dark eyes searching. "Noona."

"Hm?"

He shifts, curling further into me.

"Noona...Jin hyung, Joon hyung, Yoongi hyung..."

His head turning to every single one of us then back to me.

"...thanks for welcoming us so easily.
I know it's a lot.

I gently smile at him "Ofcourse, Kook..."

"This," he murmurs, gesturing around the room.

"Us, hobi hyung and I belonging with you guys. I never thought that life could be so much better than it was."

I look at him then, at all of them-at Yoongi's quiet smile, at Namjoon's steady presence, at Hobi's sunshine warmth, at Tae's soft little breaths, at Jin oppa's eyes, full of something deep and endless.

I squeezed his hand. "You and hobi are family. You always were. The truth is we're also very thankful that you both decided to open your arms and heart to us too."

I cup Jungkook's face, brushing my thumb over his cheek.

"This is home. Yours and Hobi's. We will always be each other's home" I whisper.

And then-Joon reaches across the couch, his fingers curling around Kook's, anchoring him.

Jin oppa hums contentedly, nuzzling into Tae's hair.

Yoongi presses a lingering kiss to Hobi's hair, then murmuring something only he can hear.

Hobi automatically blushing and nudging his face on his neck breathing him in.

Jungkook sighs against my touch, eyes fluttering shut.

And in this moment, in this tangle of limbs and whispered promises, I know one thing for sure-We were always meant to find each other.
